bollard_11 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I really gotta get my playstation situation sorted before this is released
Laura! Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I really wish my Rock Band equipment was for the xBox 360 instead of the PS2. I have the same problem! All my equipment, like yours, is for the PS2. So for this game I have to buy all new guitars and drums.
Steven Samuels Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I have the same problem! All my equipment, like yours, is for the PS2. So for this game I have to buy all new guitars and drums. If your going to get equipment I'd reccomend getting that blue controller, and the MadCatz bass controller. Both are 50 bucks (pretty affordable imo). As for drums get a RB2 set. They are less noisy and have addon ports for cymbals. They act as secondary blue, yellow, and/or green drum heads. Though they cost an extra 20-60 dollars depending on what set you get.
Laura! Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 ^Thanks for the advice. I actually ordered a RB2 drumset online for $89, the cheapest one I could find. I couldn't find any in stores. And as for guitars I'm thinking of going used, I can't find them anywhere.
*Maria_Laura* Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Yeah I'm thinking i'm going to buy it used as well. ^Thanks for the advice. kelly42fox Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I totally bought the Band Hero band kit so I could play Green Day Rock Band... I told everyone that I wanted it for Beatles Rock Band (which is true... but not my primary motivation). I have to say that I like the Red Octane (Guitar Hero) hardware is better (in this version) over the Rock Band hardware... Is that weird? I feel like a traitor for liking Harmonix games better than Neversoft's... Ok, I'm just babbling now. Anyway, I've watched most of the videos posted on GDA, and they make me freakin' giddy. My friend and I are having a GDRB party next Sat. Last time I saw her, I said, "See you in two weeks for our GD party!" Her response was, "I can't wait!!! I get to be Tre!" lol! I have a count down going on my Facebook, and everyone is like WTF are you counting to?!
matteo263 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 How did the guy on that channel get the game??? The videos are preety good but they are spoiling the release for me

I thought you could play both on the guitar....or it's like that with GH anyway.
CarnageXB Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Are there different guitar and bass controllers? I thought you could play both on the guitar....or it's like that with GH anyway. You don't have to get a bass. You can play the bass with a regular rock band guitarI got the Game in yesterday for review but I can't play it because my freaking xbox is in for repair.

What's the difference between a bass and guitar controller then? and ahhhhhhhh that really sucks!
Katarina. Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Can't wait to play this game, it should be a lot of fun
ANJI Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Bought my instruments today for £29.97....although it said £49.97 on the box The demo is awesome...cant wait for the actual game!!!
CarnageXB Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Ah, okay. What's the difference between a bass and guitar controller then? and ahhhhhhhh that really sucks! There is no difference, they have the same amount of buttons. It's just looks like a bass. And it has a double strum bar. My brother has it
cartoonjunkie Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Don't know if this has been asked before or not... I wanted to know if Billie, Mike, or Tré will be playing the game Live with the fans after it releases...???
Laura! Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I'm so excited to play this. I'm going to be on vacation this week and seeing everyone talking about it will make me wanna play it more.
son Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 i got the regular version foe 360. if anyone wants videos, ask which, ill try to record. gonna play it in its entirety when i get home today, then trade the regular version with others for the plus version at gamestop tuesday

Tell us about how good the animation is?
son Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Where did you get it. Tell us about how good the animation is? literally called every mom and pop store for the past week in manhattan, bronx, and queens. found one i DIDNT call and they had it! my dad picked up the last copy im not expecting anything fabulous. im already disappointed that billie's hands go through the neck of the guitar alot. yes im familiar with guitar hero and rock band, dont tell me about the neck straps and how common it is for their hands to go through. they did an excellent one-up from rb1 to rb2. if they were gonna use the beatles rock band engine, they could have tweaked it
Steven Samuels Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 The bass guitar looks like a bass, and has a double strum bar so you can finger it like crazy.
Angela. Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 After watching all of these videos of the songs online, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with just how much attention the game developers devoted to the real life movements and actions of the guys. For example, Billie waiving his hands back and forth near the end of St. Jimmy just like in Bullet In A Bible. Little things like that are so awesome.
Green Daynger25 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I dunno if it is the same at all Gamestops, but the 3 here in my town are selling the RockBand 2 bundle(guitar, mic, drums, and RB 2) for $70. That is a pretty great deal if you don't have any or all the items. Also I seen my first advertisement not at a game stor or TV. Out of all places it was at Wal-Mart. When I walked in it was between the doors and on the lower half of the 'poster' was an ad for the new Axe body spray(which is green so I figured that's why they tied it in) I found it amusing. I have a retarded question figured this would be the post to put it in. If by chance the baking of 1,039 and Kerplunk gets fucked and ruins the analog tapes, do you think they will re-record some or all of the tracks or just leave them be? Not for the game but for themselves/the fans.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 There is no difference, they have the same amount of buttons. It's just looks like a bass. And it has a double strum bar. Think I'll stick to a normal guitar though. 's cheaper, haha.
Young_Nastyman Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 But he must be thinking that once they get the tapes transfered they are going to remaster everything EXACTLY There are physical copies, yes, but do you really think they're going through the expensive and risky process of baking the tapes to just release them in the game and NOT remaster the albums and NOT make a killing in sales? OF COURSE NOT! Reprise are smart, they're gonna do the same thing Epic did with Pearl Jam, remaster the albums and make money. ESPECIALLY with this year being the 20th anniversary of 39/Smooth, although they might wait for the 25th anniversary since we already passed the original release date this year. But I wouldn't doubt that in 2 years we'll be seeing a 20th anniversary Kerplunk remaster.
Tek Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 i got the regular version foe 360. if anyone wants videos, ask which, ill try to record. gonna play it in its entirety when i get home today, then trade the regular version with others for the plus version at gamestop tuesday This guy GDRBisawesome has about 36 videos up already and I'm sure he is going to put the rest of them up overtime so he has it covered as far as guitar tracks. I guess the thing I would want to know is the videos that you can unlock. I wonder if there is anything rare to us fans. It might be rare to normal green day fans but I'm just curious if its actual never before seen stuff...like perhaps Homecoming at Milton Keyes.... now that would be awesome....
