Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

I like Know Your Enemy, good and punchy and I enjoy it live (with being able to shout "raw ham!" in public the highlight). Oh Love does go on a bit and it's pretty low down in my trilogy songs list, but I like that it's something different for them and agree the solo is cool. I prefer Know Your Enemy but I can see why both of them aren't liked that much, neither were particularly good first single choices and neither are stand out tracks.

Oh Love is fine

But it should NOT have been a single. At least not a first single.

Agreed, it should definitely have been Nuclear Family or Stay The Night.

I actually really like Know Your Enemy. When I first heard I loved it right away. I don't think it's the best GD song, but it serves its purpose. I was not excited for Oh Love at all. It's not terrible; it actually works better in the whole scope of the album. But rarely listen to it anymore.

Not certain it's unpopular, but I think they should release another album under "The Network" name. I do love that new wave sound.

Also, they need to hurry up and just release Cigarettes And Valentines... and maybe Dream Catcher and World Vs. World. There's literally enough unreleased material to fill a cd or two. Pisses me off a bit that they cant' just do a limited run cd or online release.

I loved Know Your Enemy when I first heard it. I just think the guitar sound is awesome. It's a great, powerful song. It's meant to be simple and repetitive, like a chant. I find it much easier to get into the mood to play that song than I do with Oh Love, which is just sort of...meh. I loved it too when it first came out, but how I feel about both songs now have made me see that there's definitely a difference between loving a song because I genuinely think it's great, and loving a song because it's the first new Green Day song I've heard in a while :P

It's probably an unpopular opinion that The Network is better than FBHT....but that's what I think. :ninja:

You can't make that decision in the unpopular opinions thread, not fair!

I have never disagreed more with a post than I disagree with this one.  If we had negative rep, I actually would have used it.  You have made me sad.

Have I found the ultimate unpopular opinion??? Shouldn't I get a banner for that?

I don't think this is something you want to advertise

Is it an unpopular opinion that the foxboro album is better than every green day album after american idiot? (Maybe only 21st can somehow compete.)

I don't think it's better but I think it's as good as anything they've done, I include it with their top tier grade A albums. I would also certainly rather see one Foxboro show than 20 Green Day shows (however small or cool the Green Day ones were).

I don't think it's crazy to like The Network a lot, I love that album. But FBHT is just better :P

Unpopular opinion: The Network is much better than FBHT. Roshambo is such a good song I'll fight you on this.

Choosing between Roshambo and Mother Mary is like choosing between American Idiot and Dookie: both great in their own right.

Yes, and I say that as a person who considers 21st Century Breakdown to be their lyrical and sonical apex.

You're my new best friend :P except Roshambo is probably one of my least favourites on the album. Supermodel Robots, Spike, Reto and Money Money 2020 are probably my top 4. I know the words to Spike like the back of my hand!
