The only girl I know of him dating before Adie wasn't named Amanda, but that doesn't mean he didn't date someone named that.

how do you know?

Can't say. You don't have to believe me, I'm just sharing what I know.

THE FUCK UR A MOD NOW (again?)

The name could be Amanda, or maybe not because maybe he wants to protect her privacy? The songs about her aren't exactly kind to her.

I was told that Billie didnt name the other songs after her to protect privacy but when he wrote Amanda he showed it to her and she allowed him to use her name.

Not sure if its true but...its what i was told.

The girl who Billie has called Amanda (the "one that got away" who Good Riddance, Whatsername, She, Sassafras Roots, Amanda and a bunch of others are inspired by) is the girl who he's said he was with for about a year while living downstairs from her in the "Longview" house, him writing Dookie and her at college, who then went off to study in Ecuador when they split up. Is she the girl whose name you've heard is different?

Pretty sure we all know at this stage that the songs are about Hannah.

I was getting my girls mixed up.

pretty sure he had two girlfriends before adrienne, one was amanda and the other one was called erica (?) and was mike pelino's sister iirc. erica was the one who good riddance was about and went to ecuador and amanda was whatsername/stuart and the ave etc etc. or maybe it was the other way around. either way, they were definitely two separate people and amanda was actually named amanda.

i know way too much about this band :P

I think it was Arica, but yeah, you're right. I was talking about someone else.

Know Your Enemy is amazing live, and should never be taken off of the setlist. The reason I say this is because I've attended plenty of GD shows and after awhile, it's hard to get pumped during every song, because you've heard them live so many times and you know exactly what's going to happen. KYE, though. That shit gets me going no matter what. I hate it on 21CBD, it's so boring and repetitive, but the energy that happens when they play it live is insane. The only part of the show that energizes me more is the opening (whatever that is, excitement is always sky high though) and the AI/JOS combo at the end.

... no.

Alissa, I will fight you as soon as I get more posts. Bitch

Agreed (although I don't hate it on the album, it's just way better live). Plus my sister and I will never tire of shouting "RAW HAM" and laughing during GD shows so they need to keep it for that too.

When It's Time is a very good song and it's a shame that it's not played live anymore. I'd like for it to be in a future album, but I'm glad that it was not on the trilogy because it would have been totally destroyed. It would have probably been the best song of the trilogy though

PD I wonder if Billie ever had a girlfriend with a normal name

Well I mean, it was on American Idiot: The Original Broadway Cast recording (or whatever that album is called), so I guess we could say it already is on a Green Day album.

I'd say Amanda (if he did date a girl with that name) and Adrienne are two pretty common names...

How is Erica not a normal name?

Pretty sure she spelled it Arica. Which is unusual.

I've only seen reports sayin Erica

but that could just be journalists just assuming

She was either born Erica and changed it to Arica, or was born Arica and changed it to Erica, I can't remember which.

Hey now.

Not you but you know a lot of journalists won't take time to check a spelling if there's a common spelling of it

I do. :) But I'm also an Alissa with an "I," and I've lived my entire life dealing with my all my names (first, middle and now dual last) being misspelled. I never want to do that to somebody else, but unfortunately, you're right, lazy writers often don't check.

I had never even heard about this "Arica," tbh...
