Chin for a Day Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'm sorry, I truly am. What order would you put them in? Everyone knows you have Pulling Teeth in the wrong spot. 2 Quote

Anyway, if we're allowed to use equals, then I'd change mine to: Basket Case=Longview=Welcome to Paradise>When I Come Around (though not by much, they fluctuate)>She=Burnout=Chump=Sassafras Roots>Having a Blast=Emenius Sleepus>FOD>Pulling Teeth>In The End=Coming Clean. Yeah, Dookie's my joint favourite album (alongside AI). 1 Quote

Libertine Angel Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'd steal Tom's salmon joke in response to that, but I'm not going to. Quote
Spike Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 i'm all about that bass m8No salmon. Baffled by Basket Case joint bottom but whatevs, I'm not one to talk. Also you missed Longview. Everyone should miss Longview. Quote

Spike Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 its not that i dont like it its just that its not as good as the rest of the album ja feel i prefer it live anyway tbh Yeah it's amazing live, Reading 2004 ftw. I do get bored of it these days though, it's the first Green Day song I heard 12 years ago and doesn't have much impact now. 2 Quote

That makes me cringe every time. It's such a shit version, dunno why they included it at the expense of Homecoming. Quote
Libertine Angel Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The BIAB version of Basket Case (CD one, I haven't watched it in ages) is definitely vastly superior to the original, but that's because it's just brilliant in general. Basket Case remains one of my favourite ever songs though, so I'm biased in that. Quote
klytaemnestra Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 That makes me cringe every time. It's such a shit version, dunno why they included it at the expense of Homecoming. it makes me giggle no matter where i am tbh it's fucking hilarious. homecoming should def have been in there instead though, i don't think i've ever heard a live version of it actually tbh Quote

Its actually the song that made me a fan, but it doesn't have the same impact anymore if I'm just listening. However, I still love the video.l Quote
klytaemnestra Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Storytellers and KROQ. Both incredible. oh storytellers ofc!! brb running to youtube 1 Quote
Spike Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 oh storytellers ofc!! brb running to youtube I've got the audio if you want it, it was a WMUWSE b-side. Quote
Libertine Angel Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Homecoming live was a B-side to one of the AI singles, I'm not sure which one though. I've got the audio if you want it, it was a WMUWSE b-side. Yeah, that one. Quote

Chin for a Day Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I just watched Storytellers live, it was brilliant! I think because of the way the piece parts of the song fit together, Homecoming is better live than JOS. 1 Quote
Jax Teller Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Oh I'm sorry, I was incorrect that it was the last one. But I do think the reason it was chosen is that it was in it. I'd assume the reason it was picked over the others is they'd already released a slower/ballad type song (21 Guns), and a more upbeat song is a more common choice for a single. Nevermind, we all make mistakes. My biggest complaint about the singles is the video for East Jesus Nowhere. It could be funny in an epic way, but it ended up with a video with live footage. I remember when 21st CB came out I had created in my mind the concept of the video for East Jesus Nowhere, even their clothes. Storytellers and KROQ. Both incredible. Homecoming live at Storytellers is the best live performance of Green Day ever. 1 Quote
Backyard Skulls Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Homecoming is amazing live why don't they play it more often late to the dookie discussion but my order is prob: when I come around, coming clean, longview, she, chump, sassafras roots, having a blast, pulling teeth, burnout, fod, basket case, in the end (and if it's counted all by myself.) Quote
Spike Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Homecoming live at Storytellers is the best live performance of Green Day ever. I'd put it in close second behind Basket Case at Reading '04. It is utterly perfect start to finish, though. 2 Quote
