Their maturity levels need to meet in the middle. I love the song because it is not a sappy, I love you don't leave me song. He's saying that they both made mistakes and if their marriage is going to work they both need to compromise. That kind of attitude is one of the reasons they've been married for 20 years. 8 Quote
