green day is Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I was watching some violin covers of songs and it makes me kinda sad that I stopped playing violin like 4 years ago. I'd love to start up again but my college doesn't have an orchestra and fuck if I would know where to look for one. Why do you need an orchestra?
Penguin Puffball Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Why do you need an orchestra? I feel weird playing just on my own. I guess I could do covers like I do with vocals, but I feel a lot more accomplished playing along with an orchestra.

Sites like eBay and Amazon have some pretty big selections of all different kinds of instruments, you just have to do your research and find out which cheap ones are crap and which ones are actually decent. There's a lot of shitty ones on eBay and whatnot obviously, but you can still get a good one for a good price. My sax is an el cheapo from eBay and it's lasted me almost three years, so. You could also look up places that might be near you that sell used instruments, because fucking hell new ones are really expensive.

fromdecimateddreams Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Do eBay and Amazon carry orchestras now? Damn I didn't see the response before mine
xxPistolxx Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 That's ridiculous. I've skirted around the problem in the past by finding mid-range guitars to buy, but this time I'll have to get it custom made because they don't even manufacture the one I want in left handed. Doesn't look like I'll be getting one of those any time soon. Duude you should really try playing upside down like Jimi Hendrix he's a fucking legend maybe you're gonna turn out like him! I mean like playing a guitar upside down and shredding is just amazing i wish i can do that xD
lucass Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I haven't been in a band in over a year and it is killing me. Part of it is because my old back no longer has a location to practice because all of us live in damn apartments where if you sneeze too loud you get evicted.

My band split up in June and I feel like a caged lion. I keep watching the video of our last gig and it's painful how much I miss it.

Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Time for a pretentious solo album Been there, done that
Backyard Skulls Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Omfg wow after not touching my trumpet since December and going back to band last Monday I really need to practice again we've got a trumpet feature piece and it looks v hard so yeah gonna need to start practing regularly once again. Certified Nimrod Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I know the feeling. My band split up in June and I feel like a caged lion. I keep watching the video of our last gig and it's painful how much I miss it. Why'd you split up? Been there, done that Where is said album?
Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Why'd you split up? We were together at uni but since we finished we all live hundreds of miles apart Where is said album? You've heard all of it that I'm willing to share
Certified Nimrod Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 We were together at uni but since we finished we all live hundreds of miles apart You've heard all of it that I'm willing to share That's sad I NEED A B-SIDE COMPILATION.
Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 I wouldn't mind jamming with people again but whenever I try to organise something I'm usually drunk and everyone forgets the next day. Not to start a band but for a bit of fun. I know the feeling! Where abouts in England are you? I'd be up for a jam if you're not on the moon or something crazy. That's sad I NEED A B-SIDE COMPILATION. I know, I crie evrytim I NEED A DECENT A-SIDE COMPILATION FIRST
Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 The north east so... just a little bit out of the way of London. I could actually text people now that I remember. There's a thought. I was in the north east until last June, typical Since I left uni I've spoken to one person I could realistically jam with. And that was Idiotic Tendency, who no longer wants anything to do with me. So that went well.
Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 As if. But London is teaming with musicians, you could maybe put an ad out somewhere? True, the trouble is I don't have any gear for performance here, I've got a bass, a crappy guitar and recording software, but all my amps are back in t'North. It's a bit problematic really

It's a bit problematic really Why are your amps back in t'North? GDC skype jam session Yes! We can record it and sell it to raise money for GDC!
Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Why are your amps back in t'North? I don't have any room for them here. They're all at my dad's house until I can find some way of getting them here and somewhere to put them once they are here.

Spike Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 That sucks :/ Pretty much. I miss my instruments more though. I've got a Fender Telecaster at my mum's and I'm sat here with an Affinity Squier Strat. I miss my Thunderbird bass, too
rootbeersoup Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 We will even bring back idiotic tendency to really give us some hype His backup accounts can provide background vocals

Spike Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 What part of london you based in lol South East, near Kingston. It's no effort for me to get to anywhere in London, though.
