That awkward moment when your drummer is a Young Thug fan who denies all claims that he is punk. Or even associated with the band, for that matter.

That was great!!!  I loved how you moved your head to the beat, I do that too.

And you still look like Mila Kunis.

Wow, very beautiful, both you and your playing :) You look like my sister, seriously.  A little like me, lol.  I love how you were moving your head and your body a little, you could do even more when it's chamber music, because it serves as communication between the players. Your flute player was moving a little too.  The ensemble was really good, the two of you were really together with the phrasing. . Nice job, keep it up :)

Son the Younger gave me an electric guitar lesson yesterday, I'm not nearly as good as you but maybe I'm not hopeless, either. I can play all the way through Basket Case, I still have to learn the palm muting, that's hard. I started "Homecoming", played the first section. But I love your classical playing much more!

I find palm muting difficult.  It sounds like it shouldn't be, but I find it hard to use the correct amount of pressure.  It helps me to lift my hand a bit higher than I normally would.  Basketcase is so fun to play.

Actually, I do look a bit like you  thank you, I'm pretty sure our teacher will find a ton of imperfections to (nit) pick at :D I'm pretty satisfied with it though. we were trying soo hard haha

I do electric too and my advice on palm muting is to try putting your hand into different angles and check out what sounds the best. Once you grasp the correct position of the hand and the right amount of pressure, it will be fine. Try moving your hand a bit closer to the bridge. You shouldn't need to move your hand a lot, though.

Thanks for the tip! Son also told me to angle the pick a little and it did give me a better sound.

LOL this is my sister's page for Union College, she is a music professer there. See What I mean? You're prettier, though :)

We do look a bit alike :D It's pretty cool that she does Japanese music- it must be very interesting..

Also, your son was right about the pick angle :)

I'm accompanying younger son's All State Vocal audition is today at 4, wish us luck!!! New York State All State Chorus is nearly impossible to get into, but if he gets a perfect 100 he has a shot at it. This is great experience for him, though, to sing for a judge, and he'll get notes along with his score. He's singing the Schumannn "Widmung" in German. It's a gorgeous piece, I'm looking forward to this afternoon :)

Guess what...he did!!!! He got a 100 A+ rating. He sang it so beautifully, I messed up the last few measures after he was done because I was so moved by his performance! Thanks for your good luck wishes, I'm sure they helped :)He sang it the best he's ever done.

He really put his heart and soul into it, too.

Thank you! He really "gets" poetry and languages. Delivering the  meaning is such a big part of singing.

I wish I didn't have to choose between throwing away an opportunity to play music and being constatntly upset because I don't get along well with people I play with :(

Do you have to play with them?

The thing is that I've already invested a lot of time into it and have nothing else going on so if i ditch this, I'll have no one to play with. But there's a whole lot to be bitter about, including a love triangle, which is pretty funny given how uneventful my personal life normally is :P

Deal with it the punk way, just turn around and say "sort your shit out and do what I fucking tell you." :P

I'll wear a denim jacket and docs just to boost the attitude. :P I don't like giving people talking to, but I can't stand the way they talk to me. I don't have enough time for them but that's not a reason to treat me like an irresponsible brat. Plus the relationshippy stuff :D

Definitely speak up! Why should you put up with that?? Go for it.

So, things went pretty much allright on Tuesday, but on Friday I got fucking screwed again. We set Monday as a practice day - I leave the Monday afternoon free for that every week and usually come at the girl's place even though the journey home takes me an hour. She can't practice the next Monday because she absolutely has to (!) hang out with a friend she goes to school with. As we need to practice (there's a competition ahead of us in May) and I have no time for the rest of the week, I got pushed into practicing in the Tuesday afternoon, which means I'll spend 13 hours either sitting at school or running around the city withought a lunch break. Just great. I'm so angry I could cry. I always end up doing things like that because of stupid shit like this. She always gets soo passive aggressive at me that I surrender. Fuck this. I'm so dumb.
