Libertine Angel Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Which song on Kerplunk do you think is the best? One of My Lies, Christie Road, and 2000LYA are the first to come to mind. Quote
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Does anyone else think that Billie enjoys teasing his fans, especially with things like his Instagram post the other day. It fucks me off a bit actually . He loves it. I actually believe he used to be on GDC before getting banned for trolling. Quote

Maid Meringue Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 ^ I think it was just an assumption 1 Quote
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 He could have been Steven Seagull for all I know. 2 Quote
Hermione Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 There is no such thing as reverse discrimination. Take this where it belongs to, so we could explain it to you better. Agreed, but "reverse discrimination" isn't the issue. The fact that banning a game where you can pretend to kill both women and men because you can pretend to kill women isn't a move towards equality doesn't have anything to do with "reverse discrimination", it's just an example of treating something as sexist when it isn't. But yeah, I guess this isn't the correct thread for this discussion. Does anyone else think that Billie enjoys teasing his fans, especially with things like his Instagram post the other day. It fucks me off a bit actually . No doubt about it 2 Quote
Haushinka! Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Which song on Kerplunk do you think is the best? I'm surprised no one has said Android. Definitely one of my favorites. 2 Quote
Todd Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 One of My Lies, Christie Road, and 2000LYA are the first to come to mind. Totally disagree. These are the catchiest songs, but I wouldn't call them the best. These three would follow immediately after my 3 though. For "the best" I look at the maturity and subject of the lyrics. That's what I consider the best. 1 Quote

That's a factor, but I put the overall feel of a song first. Holden Caulfield is almost in that list, but for some reason it's not one of the songs that's immediately clicked with me. No One Knows also deserves mentioning as one of the only songs that can get a serious emotional reaction out of me. 1 Quote

Yeah, I'd definitely put No One Knows in 4th place, I keep forgetting that one, even though I was obsessed with it for over a year 1 Quote
The Platypus! Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 There is no doubt that Android is my favourite song on Kerplunk. Quote
Maid Meringue Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 No One Knows, Private Ale and Words I Might Have Ate are my top 3. That album is full of so many greats that it was difficult to settle on them. 2 Quote
Maid Meringue Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 It amazes me how 10 years have passed since American Idiot and commoners are still using the "old vs new" argument. I literally tell them the same thing I've been saying since middle school: "I know right? Once they made Dookie I just couldn't support them anymore. Total sellouts." It leaves these people scratching their heads. Of course I don't actually think that way, but I find it's more amusing to confuse haters than argue with them. 2 Quote
Haushinka! Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Comparing a band's old music to their newer stuff is inevitable. I do it too. It's hard for me not to reminisce about the "good old days" before 21st Century and the Triology were released, or even back to the early 90's. Fans will continue to support and love a band if they do something different while others lose interest and jump off the wagon. People are gonna call them sellouts for whatever reason, but who cares what the haters think? 1 Quote
unextraordinarygirl Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 That's not Billie ' s real account, so no. 2 Quote
Maid Meringue Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Yeah there's some prick that now uses his old instagram name...they obviously need attention from naive fans to validate their life Quote
stuart_and_the_ave Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 It really happened, its from 2012. It's posted in the old instagram thread. I'd forgotten about loads of the random/weird things Billie used to write in the comments. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/89508-green-day-instagram/page-6 1 Quote

AlissaGoesRAWR Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 So what you think that is the definition of equality and that we should let this all go ahead. Hint this is not equality. You cannot get upset over one and not the other, it has too be both or none at all. You can't be "sexist" against women. "Reverse discrimination" does not exist. As much as I believe feminism is an important issue, violent video games pose many, many more problems for society than just promoting abuse, objectification and sexualization of women. But as others have said, this isn't the thread for this discussion, so kindly take your uninformed opinions elsewhere, please. Quote
