The Disappearing Boy Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 But can someone objectively explain to me what is good about Makeout Party? I simply don't get it. At all. Even if I take the fact that it's a Green Day song out of the equation, it's just plain bad. It's got a cool(ish) solo and a cool bass line. Not enough to save the song though, in my opinion. Quote
Spike Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I'll never know how Mike plays the bass part and sings the chorus of No One Knows at the same time. Absolute genius. 1 Quote

Maid Meringue Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 For some reason last night, I thought that the White Stripes' "Fell In Love With a Girl" sounded similar to Lady Cobra. I must have been deliriously tired, because I dislike them. Quote

Hermione Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I think a lot of the singing kind of sounds similar too (eg "Fell in love with a girl...", "Well I met a girl named Lady Cobra..."), sounds like you could sing one song over the other quite easily. 1 Quote

Mayonaise Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) Bootleg Baba uvula who desensitize suffocate would not be on a GH cd lol (as great as those songs are they just wouldn't) If it were real they could've just been like "Hey, we like these songs!" But you're probably right. But I could see "Desensitized" being on a GH album. It was included as its own 7 inch single in the Ultimate Collectors vinyl box set. However, Basket Case is misspelled. So I don't really know. It could be an unlawful placement of the reprise logo Quote

It's been over a year since I've listened to it, I can't remember.Nah it's just bog standard root notes. Unfortunately, that's become the norm for Mike over the last 10 years or so. The solo still sounds pretty cool, though. Quote

I have a poster with the cover to this album, if that means anything. Edited November 29, 2014 by Soviet Idiot Quote

Certified Nimrod Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I'm pretty sure most of us can relate to the kind of hazy infatuation that Makeout Party is recreating. Not I. 1 Quote
