I can still remember hearing these Foxboro tunes for the first time.  I think it was on Myspace and there were a handful of them.   It was unclear at the time if it was Green Day or someone else.     

 I see that I joined GDA the day before the album was available for download, wow.    I joined not for Green Day but for the Tubbies, haha!  I was probably trying to find an early download of the album and just so happened to join the most awesome Green Day community ever.   

 

Yeah! They had a mysterious website with a clock ticking down and then put out that 6 song EP (first 6 tracks of what would be the album, with Highway 1 and the film clip intros) for free, and then everyone followed their myspace with weird pictures and posts and new songs. I also joined GDC in the Foxies era and I loved it, so much fun

The best thing was following everyone's crazy stories from the US tour. Then they ended it with a final post-show myspace message from the Rev - "Will there be more? I got you on my mind, England" and everyone was excited, but it ended up not happening. When they sprung that surprise show on us a year and a half later we couldn't believe it, they kept their word! I'll always enjoy remembering it, still have one of the Rev's beer cans lol.

Same! I think the first thread I read was the one about FBHT where people were trying to decide if it was really Green Day or not

Were there also people acting all smug, only because they were convinced that Billie doesn’t sound like Billie at all or was it different in the old days?

I love that Video. It better than some of their others....like XKid or Revrad.  Yuck!

I am currently calculating when the next GD album drops based on the Network reactivating.

American Idiot came out 10 days shy of a year after Money Money 2020.

So if Network 2: The Death of Finky McFinkster comes out in December, GD14 should be out 

December 15th, 2021.

The bass line on Sex, Drugs, and Violence is very underrated. In fact, all the bass lines on the trilogy are underrated. (Mainly the ones on Tre though).

My two year old son was scrolling through a Green Day playlist on youtube.   I mentioned this in The Network thread but he listened to a good deal of music, so here' the details.    

He previewed most of them, but he let Teenagers From Mars and Waiting play all the way through.   

He danced to the Network, and banged his head to Waiting.  

 

*I forgot, he loved the video for Kill the DJ as well.  He love motorcycles.  I thought about find the edited version, but figured his mom drops more f-bombs than this song in a single breath, so it's nothing he hasn't heart already.   Ha!

Yet my phone just got a notification from reddit that said

HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE:   THE LEADER OF THE WORLD MEETS OBAMA

and it's Billie Joe with Obama.  

What the heck, reddit.

Who would win in a fight? Billie or Fink? Not entirely hypothetical, as The Network and Green Day are really going at it on Instagram. Could turn into a physical scuffle one day.
