This convo reminds me that GDC has a brick/stone on "Wembley Way" outside Wembley Stadium to commemorate Green Day's 2010 show there. A member had the great idea to do it/organise it and load of us pitched in and got one. Not quite the Hollywood Walk of Fame but still

They are pretty lenient with who gets a star. Basically you pay the 30K and you are in. I had a friend who produced one movie and she used some of her proceeds to buy herself a star.

Yeah I kind of figured that getting a star on the walk of fame is kind of like any other industry award or honor...doesn't really matter. But still, it's nice.

So I just watched the OW movie again, and I absolutely love the entire thing, but I find that opening scene where his band are being interviewed/performing so irritating. In the rest of the movie, Perry is 40 (well 39, but he turns 40 at the end), and then that opening scene is supposed to be from 20 years earlier. So that would mean Perry is 19/20 in the opening scene, and I know Billie looks young for his age, but there is absolutely zero chance he could pull off a 20-year-old at the age of 42/43. Obviously, there's nothing they could do about Billie's age, but they could have maybe made the character a bit older, or shortened the length of time that passed between the flashback and the present day scenes or something like that. It's not a big deal, it's just me being picky, and it kinda irks me because it seems lazy. But other than that, I absolutely love the entire film.

My comment will be extremely random... 

Still waiting for more new information on the American Idiot movie. Hope it will be better than Ordinary World. And to be frankly honest, I haven't bee really impressed by the American Idiot on Broadway. I wouldn't mind if Michael Mayer would be out of the picture. 

I'd love to see a REAL TALENTED director/writer in this movie. Someone like Xavier Dolan (see Mommy),  someone who has a unique vision on teenage drama. Did anyone watch Mommy? I've always felt that the storyline of the main character might resemble Jesus of Suburbia. Trouble kid, monoparental family, lowest-class environment, etc. 

Another interesting choice would be Samuel Bayer, who directed all American Idiot videos. I was also thinking of Mike Mills ( he did Thumbsucker, same 2 actors than the Jesus of Suburbia video).

Anyway, please, no Michael Mayer, no Lee Kirk....

So question to anyone who might be interested: who should direct the American Idiot movie?

I don't see that it will be Lee Kirk as well for the AI movie, but I would have no problem with it, I really liked everything about Ordinary World.
