The Great Saiyaman Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Today my friend was giving me a ride home. He's a huge U2 fan, so he was telling me some cool stuff about them. Then I started talking about Green Day and he brought up that they did the Saints Are Coming which I completely forgot about! Then I showed him Letterbomb and he loved it and I hope I've made a new GD friend! 3 Quote

I tend to forget about them doing The Saints Are Coming too The weird effects on Billie's voice are bad enough, but then you realise it's a pale imitation of Skids and very few people can match Skids, I mean it can't possibly match this: 1 Quote

bouncingoffthewallbja Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I adore GD's version of Working Class Hero! I love how they mix it up a little and make it their own, but still stay true to the song and respect it by having John sing the last few lines 4 Quote

Adding the drums was a nice touch. Definitely my favourite cover they've done. 2 Quote

RedundantIdiot Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I'm Still Breathing. I swear that either getting a GD ticket/waiting to see GD in concert, or listening to an important Newcastle United game will be the death of me. Both have excited me/made me ridiculously nervous in equal measures. Quote

Getting a ticket for GD in Sheffield wasn't that difficult- getting tickets for the second leg of our Play-Off semi-final will probably be harder! RedundantIdiot Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 So my Dad is a big fan of 1970's/1980's bands, among the bands he likes are Bad Company, Free, the Eagles, Queen, and lesser-known British bands from the same period. Whenever I go to a concert with Mum and Dad- the predominantly middle aged crowd look at me as if I'm an alien. They must think its strange that a mid 20-something actually listens to proper bands that can write and play their own music and not the manufactured shite in the charts. Which I why I now go to gigs in my GD shirt so that I don't get evils from the older crowd who just automatically presume that I don't have good taste in music. Quote

Popular Post Jesus of Seneca Posted May 8, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2017 Okay, don't know if anyone's had a similar experience to this or not, but Warning is one of the albums that i would always listen to while mowing. And whenever it would get to Macy's Day Parade, i would hear - there is something on that song like a bird chirping every so often, or something like that - anyway, everytime it got to that song, i would be mowing along and hear this little whistle. Then after a little while i'd hear it again. And i always would think it's somebody whistling at me to get my attention, so i'd stop the tractor and look around, and of course - there'd be nobody there. Somehow, EVERY time i mow and listen to that album, i manage to forget about that part of the song, and it catches me every time 6 Quote
