The other day we were in the kitchen baking a cake for my mom's birthday and I said "I think we need some music to listen to, don't you? What should we listen to?" She thought for a moment and replied, "Deen Day, maybe?" Haha maybe YES baby girl Proud parent moment right there! You taught her well Obi Wan Kanobi! 2 Quote
Popular Post Wretched & Divine Posted November 22, 2016 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2016 I'm trying to find something specific in my twitter history and I just found this. Which... well... I don't even know 5 Quote
DeJennsitized Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Is Green Day still in the Facebook trending topics because they're actually still trending or because Facebook just knows I like them? They were gone for a bit but they're back again. 3 Quote

Facebook collects information such as which websites you've visited or collects info about what do you like on FB even if it's just using those reactions/faces instead of liking, at least I think so, it's for them to be able to give you the adverts and it's more about who is the potential buyer, even Google do this, and other social sites I guess too Quote

Popular Post Thatsername Posted November 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted November 23, 2016 I had a total cello moment yesterday Feeling like a cello is just so cool, I don't know how we ever did without the definition of this exact feeling. It should be included in a dictionary. 7 Quote

RougeRogue Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 So...given that I wasn't around here in the trilogy era, I've always wondered if everyone on here has a widely accepted origin for Billie's trilogy phrase "Stop When The Red Lights Flash"? Because, in case it hasn't been discussed previously, that is the phrase that is printed on the back of all american school buses and I am 99% sure that he came up with that while sitting behind a school bus in traffic. I have literally never seen that anywhere else. 1 Quote
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I guess it's quite literal. Stop doing whatever bullshit you are doing when people around you signalize you should/you realize you're going in a wrong direction. Quote

(Seriously, this needs an urban dictionary entry.) Feeling like a cello: in my opinion it literally means "experience a wide range of feelings". You know, the cello has a great extension in term of notes. It goes to C2 to G5 if I remember well. So it is like "you can experience everything, from bad feelings (low notes) to orgasms (high notes), but all this at the same time". It's incredible. I hope it's crazy enough to be a "feeling like a cello" explanation. 8 Quote

I mean he may mean it however he wants, but as a phrase I promise you that is the only place it comes from and the only thing it's used for. Because, literally, when the bus' red lights flash, that means stop. He interpreted it however, but that has got to be the origin there. 1 Quote

I don't care Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Just listened to Working Class Hero (Green Day version, obviously) and I just realized that I grew up (well, I was seven when it was released) thinking that it was a Green Day song. If have no idea when or where I learned that it was made by John Lennon. Quote

I always thought the red light thing is a very personal metaphor and some kind of central theme of the trilogy. It could be about Billie's condition at that time, like he already realized that his situation got more and more out of control and he knew that he should stop (he saw the red lights flash), but he couldn't stop, he wasn't able to change anything yet. But maybe I'm reading way too much into this and it's really only about sex Thinking about the song Stop When the Red Lights Flash, I just remembered that it is GREAT live! I don't like it too much on the album, but it rocks like hell on stage. I hope they'll play it again some day in the future. 2 Quote
