jumpsalty Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Would like to see Billie Joe painting more awesome state decks and also turning then into screen-printed T-shirts...and doing things like that...maybe they are going to do a side project like FBHT for a bit - there was that recent gig.. Stop Stirring up stuff. Um what? He said that he 'won't make another album and tell anyone again'. How is that stirring?!
Fuzz Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 When did he say that? Interview with Norah Jones. He said the biggest take away from this was that he liked not telling anyone when they were going to record something. Him and Norah didn't talk to anyone with their labels, they just did it then told people about it. He said he'd like to do that going forward.
Brian Gag Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Part of me hopes that means another FBHT or Network album. Or maybe Billie and Aaron will put out another PG release. But I don't know how likely any of those things are. Probably not very.
alienlifeform Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 people in facebook brezil are going crazy claiming that this is the end for GD... bunch of idiots that can't interpretate a statement
Fuzz Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 people in facebook brezil are going crazy claiming that this is the end for GD... bunch of idiots that can't interpretate a statement give them a link to GDA
Beezey Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 When did he say that? Exactly, show stirring.
alienlifeform Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 give them a link to GDA i've already tried to discuss with them.. but it's like to talk to the walls
Beezey Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Frankly, I could not be more astounded or put out by this news. How dare Green Day consider such a step without careful consideration and without consulting with their fans first? Truly a horrible band with no respect for their supporters. I will not be purchasing their merchandise, music, tickets to shows, etc., and I hope many others will join me in this. I hope you are joking.
Certified Nimrod Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Interview with Norah Jones. I hope you are joking. She is.
Fuzz Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Exactly, show stirring. It's from this interview http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/4625/ Billie Joe says "Foreverly is the kind of side project that pop stars can do on a whim, schedules permitting. It doesn’t announce a new direction for Ms. Jones or Mr. Armstrong, except in one aspect, the spontaneity: “I don’t think I’ll ever make a record and tell anybody again,” Mr. Armstrong said. “It’s just better that way.""
gmcloughlin Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I'm not completely surprised. We've had no word about a second leg of the tour beyond the Australian dates, just speculation. I am a bit surprised that so many places didn't get tour dates last summer though, especially if this means the Trilogy era is over. I'm not worried though. This is normal in the Green Day world. I am expecting something next year to mark the two big anniversaries alright and who knows, hopefully with the guys on a break we'll see some side projects or a revival of FBHT in the near future

HolyHandGrenade Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 What? Y'know, like a rock opera, but more punk or with a garage feel.
Beezey Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 #BoycottGreenDay What - I have supposed have done now?? Leave me alone
inthehallwaynow Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 What - I have supposed have done now?? Leave me alone its just a joke GIF

IlariaIDIOT Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I'm probably the only one who is not sad or something I think they're need some relax
EmmaCharlatan&Saints Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Chill people chill. Even though il hate waiting for ages but they need it. Was looking forward to maybe seeing them next year but just as well as I no money to see them anyway lol.. lmao
halfempty Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 They really rarely ever take a break, they need one yo refresh themselves. And it's not like we won't hear from them at all, Billie said they were going yo be doing different things so they don't get bored or stuck in a rut. Recharging there batteries sounds like their next album will be worth waiting for. Green Day isn't their entire life, they are regular guys with families and other interests too.
Oxymore Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I've lost my purpose in life GD what the fuck are you doing. (Sarcasm alert. I'm just kidding and meaning that it's news relating to them -albums, tour, etc) that always permitted me to daydream about a meeting with them (unlikely)) Seriously, I think it's a really great thing for them. I could wait a lifetime for their comeback but just a sign of life from time to time could make my day. Just hope I could see them before they get too old. And before I'm completely broke, of course.
Spoopy Doo Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I was sure that they'll do Dookie/AI tour in 2014, but now I'm quite confused. Probably they need a break, but I hope it won't be long. They already did; it was called the 99 Revolutions tour.
Clayish Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 necessary break. looking forward to seeing what direction they take for the next project.
Flyingdonutz Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 what the fuck do you guys expect from this group? They just released 3 albums. None of which did very well. Billie Joe was in rehab, had a pretty short stint there and came out and went literally RIGHT back on tour. This isn't a hiatus, its a break, everyone takes them. This doesn't mean they won't be doing little random shows, they could very well go schedule a massive stadium show to celebrate Dookie and AI. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. To be honest, I have no idea why they'd give a shit. It was 20 years ago that they released Dookie. They played the album in full like 4 times already. 10 years ago for American Idiot. They already play almost everything off of those albums every tour anyway so I don't really know what else they could do. I really can't believe that people are surprised and/or annoyed at this. Try going around the world in less than a year with a frontman popped up on pills or just getting out of rehab playing in front of at least 20 thousand people 4 days of every week. You'd want a break too. You have to be the dumbest fucking person around to be pissed off at the worlds biggest rock group for taking some time off. It'll be like 6 months to a year and they'll get back in the studio. FFS they took 5 years to release an album after American Idiot, and 4 years after 21CB. I'd think that would build up some patience.
