Guest Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Wait, i thought ¡Dos! was released on November 13th? It was released on the 12th in Europe.
JOE THE X-KID Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I like Dos, a lot. *prepares to get torn apart by GDC*

burnout409 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I do feel that Dos is quiet a lot of filler, but i still like the album, it ranks quiet low though in my ranking of Green Day albums but Wow! That's Loud i think is an great song, I like, STWTRLF, Makeout Party, Stray Heart, Lady Cobra, and I think Amy is ok, everything else I could live with out.
Spike Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I think beyond Fuck Time, Nightlife and Amy everything seems very rushed. There doesn't seem to be much interplay between the vocals and the music, which is one of the things Green Day have always been best at. A lot of the transitions are weak, and they basically seem to have come up with a few chord progressions and lyrics, and some weak melodies, and called them songs. There's a lot more songwriting to that. They just don't seem like well crafted songs, at all.

It's so disappointing, you expect at least another 15 seconds of solo or the harmonies they do live.
Clockwise Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I really love Dos nowadays, and the flack it gets confuses me. I think the songwriting is pretty consistent with the rest of the trilogy, which I also think is great. I dunno, I know you guys have heaps of reasons why you dislike it, but idk I feel like it's a little extreme sometimes.
Spoopy Doo Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Happy birthday to my favorite Trilogy album! "Fuck Time" is so overrated, though. :/
Florence Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Happy Birthday, Dos! There's not a single song on you I don't like! not even Nightlife My favorites off Dos! are Baby Eyes & Lazy Bones
She's My Wild One Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I feel like even hardcore Green Day fans can't handle change very well.
Mykee Mexx Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Change would be okay... if it was a good one... Well, Dos is my favourite of the trilogy. But not my favourite at all. Said it one year ago and didn´t change my mind: to me it´s clean, flat, tame sound. Overproduced. Hardly ever listen to the trilogy.

Hahaha overproduced I'd hate to hear how extremely over produced Dookie or AI is then lol
solongfromthestars Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 After reading this thread I think I can say for sure that I'm the only person in the world who thinks Dos is one of Green Day's best albums... in fact it's the first album ever where I don't dislike a single song. Oh dear. Now awaiting a crowd coming my way with pitchforks
