Jesus I've never seen so many buzzwords in such a short review.

Why would anyone buy that t-shirt on the page next to the review?

Let me start by saying that I have played this album a few times, and I still do not like it. It is just not my type of music. However I still recognise that it is a good performance from both of them, a curiosity that highlights the breadth of Billie's capabilities.

I think the reviewer above is either a total bell-end trying to seek attention or maybe he is tone deaf.

But then I am still playing Uno, Dos & Tre - the most underrated triple ever, so what do I know ?

Whether it be glowing or slanderous, I have never felt good after reading an EW review of ANYTHING. Even if they like the shit I like, I always come out of it feeling icky, violated, and worse for having read it.

Also, this album is currently #9 on Amazon Rock chart and #14 on the Pop chart  Of which it is neither genre.

For perspective on that, One Direction is #1 on the Rock chart and Susan Boyle is #1 on the Pop chart

I will laugh and weep a bit when this thing randomly outsells the trilogy. It's probably already outsold Tre :(

I can actually understand what Billie sings this time for a change :P

Wouldn't be surprised at all.

Ok I bought this yesterday and as a fan of The Everly Brothers I am a bit biased already but still I am not wild about this album somehow. Sure it has some great numbers especially Down In The Willow Garden but at some point during it (probably Lightning Express) I find myself asking is this really Billie though?! I mean it's not that I believe as a punk he should not be involved in different genres blah blah (and i listen to many types of music & have seen The Everlys live a few years ago) but something about the choice for him to do this particular style of music (so country...folksy even for The Everlys) is hard for me to grasp somehow...its weird. So while i enjoy some of the songs it's not going to be on my most played list nor is it better than the Everlys version. Sorry Billie :/

I actually enjoy the harmonies and songs in general even more than the Everly's version...and I'm a huge Everly's fan as well. To me, Billie and Norah give the songs a much darker and deeper meaning (a truer meaning to the songs lyrics) than the Everly Brothers did. I don't listen to it consciously thinking that it's Billie though...I just let myself get lost in it.

I can totally see this outselling the trilogy by default because for one thing it's more mainstream, and for another it's got the added bonus of Norah's fan base as well as Green Day's.

I agree. Norah Jones has over 3.5 million fans on Facebook and they are promoting "Foreverly" on her page.

Actually the first time I listened to this (streamed it) I totally ignored the fact it was Billie and enjoyed it a lot more haha. It's probably a lot down to idiotic ideals of Billie or something...I dunno. His vocals are amazing on this record though and Norah and Billie are an epic duo. Songs like Who's Gonna Shoe Your Pretty Little Feet make me melt...so beautiful. Part of me wants to sellotape them both together so they are forced to constantly sing harmony together and do interviews and basically everything together...they are so sweet.

While I agree that Norah and Green Day's combined fan base makes this a no-brainer to outsell the trilogy, I don't think it's necessarily "more mainstream" than a Green Day album in the last decade would be. The Everly Brothers aren't exactly trendy right now, though maybe the folk-pop-rock thing happening with Mumford & Sons, Lumineers, that Phillip Phillip song, are all kind of tied into that Americana feel that makes this an opportune time to do a rootsy album.

But I still don't think it's more mainstream. Maybe more easily audible, for sure. Not everyone likes to hear loud guitars.

Update: Since this morning it's gone up to #8 on Amazon Rock and #13 on Pop.
