Very cool. Better for being unexpected.

So this is the collaboration Billie mentioned on Idiot Nation that he didn't want to specify...

I know I'm dying for a vinyl, I'm sure it sounds positively aaaamazing on it.

Wow, I would love to hear it on vinyl!!

I'd say it's sooooo good on it

Wow this really came out of nowhere! Long Time Gone sounds pretty amazing...very pure and their voices really compliment each other. This just goes to show we can never know what to expect...and this could just have easily have been a Green Day LP...

Lmao my mum makes fun of Green Day by saying they sound like the Everly Brothers. And to be honest I can't stand Norah Jones' MOR dinner party music/singing. Buuut I suppose I'll reserve judgement until I hear it.

Wow. So it seems the collaboration with another artist that Billie Joe talked about on the Idiot Nation Q&A (and that he hadn't wanted to talk about yet) wasn't still the one with The Loney Island after all.

His voice omg.OMG.OMG.

Great news!

Oh my god - just: oh my god.

This really came out of nowhere, which makes me absolutely happy. Right now, I have no words to explain how I feel about it, but this put me through a massive fangirl-moment once again! It was really, really nice to read the interview. The project seems like a fantastic idea and I do love how they just jumped into this without massive planning and thinking about it. I especially loved Billie talking about his mother towards the end. What he said really made me smile. Also, the sentence "I’ve got a whole tour booked" by him was all I wanted to hear, haha. All the excitement I was pretty much able to hide or control in the past weeks is back. Not only about touring, but also about this record!

Their voices sound absolutely perfect together! The song reminds me so much of Hugh Laurie's music. I really love this kind of blues-like music. It's something I can close to always listen to, it calms my mind and puts me at total ease. Can't wait for the record to be released, seriously. I think it will be one of these I will listen to for weeks and weeks on repeat because its beauty is overwhelming. This one song is prove enough for me.

Hmmm...interesting. I won't judge until I actually listen to the album. But at least Norah Jones is decent.

Well that was unexpected. I don't know about this. Billie's voice is just so....different. It doesn't fit in this song for me. Maybe a few more listens..

But those photos are mighty fine.

hahaha aw he's wearing the chubby cherub button on his jacket.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

(more coherent comment to follow, or maybe not...)

I love how with the guys in this band, you're always in for surprises  but I like what I'm hearing so far!

Sure, they theoretically can't do it forever but it's Green Day, they really do whatever they want. Who knows, maybe we might get more stuff like Kill The DJ or another side-project kind of thing or… whatever goes on in their heads.

I cannot believe I was somewhat right with this speculation.

I mean this is just amazing, really. I had the feeling that there was something going on which we didn't know about since.. you know, there's always something going on with Green Day. But I really didn't expect something so wonderful.

I can't even fathom this awesomeness right now. These two voices together is the equivalent of pouring warm, sweet caramel into my ear. Beautiful, most EPIC side project ever!!

Potential grammy-nominee? I think so!

That's amazing news. Norah Jones is a very talented singer, her father, Pandit Ravi Shankar has inspired The Beatles, U2, Coldplay and a lot of world renowned artists. So good to see her collaborating with Billie. And the song is amazing!

The first Norah Jones song I heard was Dream Girl ft The Lonely Island. Coincidence?I don't think so.

"I’ve got a whole tour booked, I’ve got the itinerary. We’re actually gonna talk about that right after this phone call… No, no, I’m just kidding. [laughter] I don’t know. We kinda just take things slow. We’re still mastering it."

I understand that the " I’ve got a whole tour booked, I’ve got the itinerary" is part of the joke, right?

Don't like it. He should stick to punk rock and leave the gipsy songs to others.

diversity is such a cunt

Even if one part of my brain was actually considering a side project.. it definitely wasn't one of this type! :shy:

This makes me almost more excited than waiting for the last three albums to come out! What a fantastic surprise.

The Everly Brothers are a great band and Billie together with Norah (though I don't listen to her music) singing their songs = !!! Very excited!

This is going to be great.
