Tubbie Head Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I just finished watching it! It was amazing. Made me want to see the musical even more than before, and it makes me so happy that Billie got to do what he did with "his baby". I was smiling a lot during the whole thing. Also to see how much the actors/singers/dancers were invested into it, and about it being the first time to reach Broadway for some of them. It's all just so sweet!

May I ask how you made it to watch it? Was there a way to buy it from outside th US?
gloria123 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 i went to see it earlier today with my dad and we though it was great! it feels like so long ago that we went to see the musical, so it was great to almost relive it...but now that i saw how much energy and love went into making it i want to see it again!
Overjoyyed Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Currently downloading it off itunes (renting it) I never bought a movie off itunes but i don't know another way to get it here in Canada. It's sadly not on Rogers on Demand! so i have to watch it off my laptop.
Overjoyyed Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Oh man this is so good! I loved seeing all the work that went in the production of the musical. I love hearing Billie's opinions of it. So amazing! I wished they showed more than 10 minutes on Billie becoming st. jimmy though. But over all 5 stars!
JIGD13 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 My thoughts: That documentary is great! Is even better than ¡CUATRO!, this time you feel what they think and how they feel, it's awesome to know how the cast and the crew made a great effort to make the musical, I've never seen the musical by judging it by the documentary I think it's great. I really like the parts when Billie talked about his personal life it made me think that even if I say they changed my live completely, the people that changed the most with Green Day was Green Day themselves. IT'S AWESOME!
LazyPhil Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Just finished watching it and it's much better than I expected It was really inspiring to me and I'm probably gonna watch it a dozen times more
halfempty Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I bought it on demand and it was definitely worth it, I loved every bit of it. The twizzlers story at the end cracked me up! I don't think it could've been better.
darenmay Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I loved it. It made me appreciate the musical more and more. They showed the whole process of it. I love that they also included the performance at the Grammy's and the recording of the musical album. Also, the BIAB clips at the start, whilst Billie was talking about the album/songs. It was such a good introduction. I could feel everyone's excitement when they were moving to Broadway, it was proud! Overall, the documentary offers a very close and exciting look at everything that went about the musical.
Neon Light Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I thought it was amazing how much respect both the band and the cast/crew had for each other. They were all shit scared that Green Day wouldn't like what they had done, while Billie Joe, even after selling 14 million copies of the album, felt validation in his songwriting and his melodies after seeing them brought to life on stage.
Billie's Banana Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I watched it two times. The first time I watched it alone and I just loved it (I don't really have words for it). Then I watched it again with my parents and they loved it too and they're not even Green Day fans so it's also for none Green Day fans.

beejeezee Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Seeing it tonight, excited. There better be some shirtless Billie.
Ana. Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 It was very enjoyable. I have never seen the play and i have to say that I never really cared for it either, but it was very interesting regardless. The ending caught me by surprise, the most interesting part - billies involvement - was just cramped into the last few minutes and we didn't really get to see much of it, but hey, i'm glad we got it at all.
Pull_Pin_Bitch Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I'm really upset that Broadway idiot is only playing in select cities >< so unfair
Ellen18 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Who is going to see it in London tonight? So excited!
stuart_and_the_ave Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Saw it tonight and loved it. Can't wait to see it again tomorrow. There was a q & a with Doug, IRA and Rob afterwards which I wasn't expecting. Pat Magnarella was there too.
Slave To The Network Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I saw it in the theater yesterday night and it was amazing! I loved it! My only gripe is that they stuck Billie's actual acting period on Broadway into the last 15 minutes or so. I was really hoping to learn more about that and Billie's experience with stepping into something so new and challenging for him and how he evolved. I was disappointed because the way they advertised it, it kind of seemed to me like that's mainly what it was going to be about - Billie's time on Broadway as St. Jimmy and his story. The rest of it is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the thing is, I have already heard all about how Green Day was involved with the musical along the way and the evolution of it from the start to being on Broadway. I was already familiar with a lot of that and most of it wasn't new to me. That's why I was hoping it would revolve more around Billie's acting. We haven't heard a lot about that and all the work he put in to put on those phenomenal performances that he did.
