Brutal Love as single?

If it is, it's a terrible choice for a single for many of the same reasons as I set forth in the other thread about "The Forgotten."

Put on top the fact that it bares self-credited resemblance to that Sam Cooke song, and it's even worse than The Forgotten as a single.

Well that's because their choices have been pretty shit, lets be fair.

Considering Warning is just a rip off of a shitty Kinks song still did ok as a single...

Carpe Diem was one of the weakest tracks on the Trilogy though? If it got a serious remix it might stand a chance, but it's still a rip off of a Purple Hearts song.

Agree, it was weak. But if it was a bit more heavy and not so plain it would be amazing

Rusty James would be even a worse single than Oh Love was...

I totally don't agree :P

Brutal Love would never be a good single, sure it's a good song but, nah. It just doesn't fit.

The singles on ¡Uno! we're a good pick, but would be good if also Fell for You was a single.

¡Dos!'s Stray Heart is good, but I would recommend if Lazy Bones better.

¡Tré! has X-Kid. Good pick, but I would like 99 Revolutions or Dirty Rotten Bastards, too.

well i will love the Single whatever it is :)

A 7 minute single? No chance. There's nothing you could really cut from it either, it already sounds like it was chopped down a good bit already. It's too disjointed for radio play, and its a good minute and a half longer than Brutal Love.

Yeah, for the first time you're right. But you're just in the wrong. :)

Also since the trilogy didn't sell that well, DrB would never be on the radio

Well even if it sold well, 7 minutes is just too bloody long. JOS didn't get any radio play outside of a few rock channels, and even then it was limited. Long songs don't belong on the radio anymore. Oh Love probably suffered a bit from it too.

If I remember correctly, they actually cropped Oh Love with like 15 seconds or something

I've heard Oh Love, Kill the DJ, X-Kid, Stray Heart, Let Yourself Go, and a snippet of Amy when they were talking about Amy Winehouse. They said that Green Day made an amazing tribute song to her and played the "Amy don't you go" part of the song. Other than that nothing else. The station I listen to plays about 2-3 Green Day songs a day. Most from American Idiot or Dookie, plus the occasional Brain Stew and 21 Guns.

Yeah, all I ever hear is Holiday, BOBD, When I Come Around, Good Riddance

Then the occasional Hitchin' a Ride, Brain Stew, She, Longview, and Know Your Enemy

I heard Warning once on the radio. Just once

I heard Oh Love while I was at a restaurant because they were playing a radio station that mixed songs, some country some alternative lol, and then a half hour later I heard Good Riddance while there. I thought it was funny they cut out the f bomb at the beginning but still played the part of Billie messing up the cords. other than that, I have yet to find a good radio station. all radio around here is country crap, so I don't even turn it on much anymore.

The trilogy era is over. Forget about any new singles because nothing will be released. The trilogy is all a bunch a crap with a few good songs and that's it.

Wow we only had Oh Love played once here, and I listen to the radio quite a bit. We rarely get any Green Day even though the presenters are big Green Day fans and you can tell that by the way they react when they are about to play a song.

i only heard Oh love once. that's about it.

My opinion is in your sig

Hm, I dunno. Stray Heart gets some airplay here. I still think X-Kid is the best Trilogy song, and it's a single. And Kill the DJ was a little risky, but I don't think it was a poor choice as a single. Maybe they should've promoted Let Yourself Go (isn't even a single in many countries) more instead of Oh Love.

I doubt any other song from the trilogy would be significantly more successful than the ones we had.

No. Nonononononononononononononononononononononononononononono. NO!

Any reason as to why you say this? Kinda rude to just say that over and over. Don't be a child, give an opinion as to why you think that.

As for the this song being a single, I think it could happen. Though it would have to be played right after another Green Day song. Like how Eruption is ALWAYS followed with You Really Got Me on the radio.

Stay The Night as the first single could've brought something, it's a good classic radio friendly Green Day song.

I've heard at different times both Peacemaker and Prostetic Head. That was pretty cool but I've only ever heard Oh Love on the radio from the trilogy though I've heard it multiple times.
