HandGrenade39 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Happy Birthday AI! Without this album my music taste would be complete crap now.
vmeri Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Words can not describe what this album means to me. I just listened it and every second of it is pure gold, I can't believe it's been nine years!
Certified Nimrod Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Albums in the US comes out on tuesdays... I NEVER KNEW THAT. mind=blown It is also the 1st birthday for Uno. As it was released in Australia and Germany on the 21st. Uno came out on September 25th in the US
WalkingContradictionPL Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 As I'm a 21CB kid, AI was my second Green Day album. However, while listening it I always tried to avoid JoS. Why? Well, that time I was pretty religious. I heard the whole album for the first time on Christmas Eve. Then I realised that avoiding this magnificent song was a huge mistake.
Anaïs. Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Without this album, I never would have discovered rock music or musical theater, which are two of the biggest loves of my life. Can't believe it's been four years or so since I first heard it.
fatherotti Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Even though I had already heard individual songs like Basket and When I Come Around long before American Idiot....it was AI that did it for me. I remember the winter of 2005, when I saw Billie hit the opening notes for AI during BIAB....that's when I knew who my band was. I DVR'D it off MTV and played it over and over and over until I bought the CD/DVD later in December and I finally bought my own copy of American Idiot later in February of 2006. My band FOR LIFE!!!!! IMO THIS is the best album the band has ever done, it's perfect, simply perfect. It is a masterpiece.
JOE THE X-KID Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I don't have a physical copy of American idiot. Do your worst Internet.
jacknovella Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Happy Birthday! I'll never get enough of this album
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 It's not my favourite Green Day album, but it is an amazing album which I love very much and has made a big impact on my life. Doesn't feel like nine years since this came out. Happy Birthday American Idiot!
Guest Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 tbh for me, it feels like so much longer than 9 years. i've grown so much since it came out. i remember when i first listened to it, my parents jut split up, i was an emotional wreck. it helped me through the roughest time of my life. i feel like i've grown an infinite amount since that day and 95% of that is thanks to that album. fuckin masterpiece man.
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I don't have a physical copy of American idiot. Do your worst Internet. Not having a physical copy is fine. I don't have a physical copy of Uno Dos or Tre. But not having ANY copy of AI at all? Now that would be a crime.
Overjoyyed Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I love this album It epitomizes why I love Green Day and Music in general. A modern day masterpiece. I love every single song on the album <3
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Gonna listen to it through today
.Holly Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Yay, American Idiot made me fall in love with Green Day! I don't think I'll ever find an album I love more. It will always remind me of that important time of growing from a child to a teenager to an adult and discovering all the new things about adult life. Doesn't feel like 9 years though, but I have definitely changed a lot in that time! Happy Birthday!
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Listening to the album makes me realise just how good the baking vocals on this album are. Particularly during the chorus of BOBD and during Extraordinary Girl.
¡Aled! Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I can't believe it's nine years already - their masterpiece!
Annie, get your gun Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I can't believe I couldn't be here to wish happy happy brithday to my favorite album of all times... But better late than never! ¡Happy Birthday American Idiot! I love you and your 13 songs, your characters, but most of all: your 3 beautiful daddies <3
Insomniac1984 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Not one of my favorite albums, but it is a great album. By the way, I remember this live track from Jools Holland Live compilation. Enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQCYvC1NkNI
CocaColaX Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 9 years of listening to this masterpiece ....... One of the best albums of all time (if not the best).
Hermione Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 It's actually been more than a year since I've listened to this album due to my being so Uno Dos and Tre obsessed. Really enjoyed listening to it this morning . The album that made me fall in love with Green Day and a total masterpiece.
