Guest Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Just as the my generation was a bonus track on Kerplunk... It was on the Sweet Children EP, they just threw those tracks on the remastered version of Kerplunk.

She is Amanda Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 So let's just come to the consensus that Green Day has recorded a cover for an album.
Jon Herroon Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Something I think would be a good idea is if green day put out a second shenanigans album plus a few leftovers from iUno! iDos! iTre!, and recorded a studio version of Cigarettes and Valentines (the song) and slapped it on there, making it the cigarettes and valentines album so people stfu about it.
Spike Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I'd be happy if they never recorded another cover again. The album version of Knowledge is terrible, My Generation is average at best, I Fought The Law is pointless because it's basically The Clash version with ALL the edge removed, Working Class Hero is boring (but only because it's such a dull song)... Their original material is far, far better than anything they could ever cover.

So basically the only reason you don't want them to record more covers is because you, personally, don't find enjoyment in their others. Real fucking neato.

Real fucking neato. I said I'd be happy if they didn't do any more covers. That doesn't mean they're not allowed to, or I'd find other people's happiness objectionable. They've proved to me that their original material is of a far higher standard than that of their covers. If someone, hell, if everyone on the planet disagrees then that's cool, it's what opinions are for. And if they ever do a cover I really like (my main objection is their covers very rarely put a new spin on the original and are just inferior versions done in exactly the same way), then even better.
