Spike Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 I'd get rid of, or at least change, the "lyrics" at the end of Nuclear Family. "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 5 4 3 2 1." Brilliant.
Certified Nimrod Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I think 99 revolutions would of sounded cooler if it started just like how it did the the TRE! Album cover video green day put up on YouTube Can you link? I don't know what you mean. Any song that has saxophone or harmonica, take it out. Then I will be completely happy! Cut out that stupid solo in Dry Ice. I mean Jesus Christ... http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/92136-unpopular-green-day-opinions/ At the end of X Kid, the last line, when Billie sings "over and over and out" and thing he should take the pitch up on "out". It just seems like it would sound better that way. I'm pretty sure he's done that live a few times. It's awesome.
Anaïs. Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I'd have the studio version of "Let Yourself Go" say "I'd rather get fucked in the face" like the Irving Plaza version.
Guest Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 The outro of Panic Song just needs to not exist. It ruins one of my favourite songs, and it's 20 seconds of the most pointless crap GD have ever recorded. I hate it more than Nightlife. And I really fucking hate Nightlife.

Y'know, that's the first time I've heard of anyone saying the END of Panic Song is pointless. But I agree.
Guest Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Y'know, that's the first time I've heard of anyone saying the END of Panic Song is pointless. But I agree. The intro is perfect, wouldn't change a thing about it. But I've hated the outro since the first time I heard it. It just doesn't fit at all, and it sounds fucking stupid.
DirtyRottenForgotten Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Take off that crappy effect on Billie's voice in Nightlife.
JackInABox86 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I don't know why people want to take out the intro to panic song, it's one of the very few songs that have such a long intro, not to mention it builds up some nice suspension for when the actual song starts
Spike Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 I wish they'd replicate Mike's live sound better in the studio. Holiday live sounds awesome, the studio version is still good but the bass solo sounds better with a bit of grit, like it does live.
jacknovella Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I think it's been mentioned before but I love if Billie sang along with the melody in 21 Guns, after the line 'looking for forgiveness from a stone'.
¡Aled! Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Like plenty of other people, I'd like to hear some distortion on the trilogy's guitars. Especially ¡Uno!, which is beginning for this treatment. Also it would be pretty great if the studio version of 21 Guns had the little piano interlude it has on the live version before the final version kicks in.

Especially ¡Uno!, which is beginning for this treatment. There is distortion on the trilogy it just recorded differently than how they usually record
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I like that the trilogy wasn't over hyped. the reason for it was tragic of course, but it makes the album kind of cult-y, and I like that. I wear my trilogy buttons on my bag and everyone's like "what are those?" and get all interested in it when I tell them, I'm kind of happy for the same reasons. No one outside of the fandom has any clue it even exists, tbh. I don't know why people want to take out the intro to panic song, it's one of the very few songs that have such a long intro, not to mention it builds up some nice suspension for when the actual song starts The intro to Panic Song is the soundtrack to the inner workings of my mind. That's why I can't stand it. So. Much. Panic.
¡Aled! Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 There is distortion on the trilogy it just recorded differently than how they usually record Sorry, I meant to say a little more distortion - the tone is a bit too clean for my liking.
Hermione Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I'd take out the little "chugga-ahhh' part in Missing You where the guitars stop How could you?! Have you ever seen the TV programme 60 Minute Makeover? There's that exact sound in the theme music and in the background music throughout the show.....it's literally my favourite part of the song because of that
WhiteTim Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Sorry, I meant to say a little more distortion - the tone is a bit too clean for my liking. Yeah they should have varied it up some songs sounds good with the clean tone some songs dont
Isabel Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 It was originally "We are the cries of the class of '13"; you can hear it in the demo version. Oh really? Wonder why they changed it? That would have sounded much better
Anaïs. Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I'd like the Trilogy so much more if it had a sound that was close to Nimrod's. Honestly, I think Nimrod is pretty much the gold standard for Green Day records in terms of sound; plenty of distortion, no instrument or vocal too low in the mix, the drums have a lot more kick. AI and 21CB's compression is really annoying to listen to with headphones, Warning's a tad too tinny for my liking, and Dookie and Insomniac are a bit...is "dry" the word I'm looking for?
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I think it's been mentioned before but I love if Billie sang along with the melody in 21 Guns, after the line 'looking for forgiveness from a stone'. But that'd ruin it. You gotta allow the solo room to breathe.
boringdays Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Any song that has saxophone or harmonica, take it out. Then I will be completely happy! Aww come on man. Walking Alone's a hell of a song, I love the harmonica in that.
The Grouch is Tracy Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I'd get rid of, or at least change, the "lyrics" at the end of Nuclear Family. "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 5 4 3 2 1." Brilliant. This, if only for the simple reason that it's annoying/embarrassingly stupid to sing along with.
St. Christian Of Suburbia Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 But that'd ruin it. You gotta allow the solo room to breathe. I actually think it'd make it a lot more epic with the vocalizing. It'd be kinda unique too. I really don't think the vocals would take away from the solo, it's easy enough to distinguish between the two.
bagelfeet Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Make the final version of 21st Century Breakdown never exist and have the final version be a better recording of the demo because the demo is so much better. It doesn't have that stupid static noise at the end.

Otis Big Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I think it's been mentioned before but I love if Billie sang along with the melody in 21 Guns, after the line 'looking for forgiveness from a stone'. But that'd ruin it. You gotta allow the solo room to breathe. I think it would sound awesome if they had billie kind of fade into the melody while the solo repeats itself.
