Tubbie Head Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Any song that has saxophone or harmonica, take it out. Then I will be completely happy! I would probably change the extreme repetition in Kill the DJ, Know Your Enemy and Oh Love. And also more saxophone in iDos!
The Disappearing Boy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I like the way billie sings 'hideous' at the end of Brutal Love from Reading. That should have been how it was done on the record.
WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 dude it's just common decency not to act like your opinion is so good, anything else makes you giggle. The loudness comment made me laugh as someone who's been in music for 15 years has worked in studios have my own plaques on the wall so yes the comment made me laugh as others who wants to bring up over produced or loudness talks when they clearly have no clue on what they speak of... Dos is easily one of the most overproduced Green Day albums. I mean that was the point but I just didn't like it. LMAO ok...

Have you made anything I've heard? I can imagine you're really famous since you're so perfect in your ways, oracle of sound waves.

If you listen to rap southern rap you most likely have heard projects I've been involved in... I simply answered iva's response I must have missed the part where you butted in...

You have knowledge about music, but laughing at everyone as a response is just being dickish.

That fact doesn't render inexperienced peoples opinion useless. No need to be a dick about it, which basically is the foundation rule for this whole website.
Guest Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 All of you, ffs, don't make me post Smash Mouth again.
Spike Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 So you've got a lot of experience in the music industry, therefore I don't have a clue what I'm talking about? For what it's worth, I've just graduated uni with a first in popular music production, and in that time I've naturally developed my own ear and my own idea of what I like records to sound like. What you're laughing at me for is having a different opinion to you, and you're then justifying it by saying you have a lot of experience. Which is just rude, dickish and makes you look like a bit of a knob, frankly.
WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The point is that your way of talking about something is condescending and incredibly off-putting. You have knowledge about music, but laughing at everyone as a response is just being dickish. I "laughed" at ONE person how is that everyone? I butted in because you act high and mighty because you've produced music for many years. That fact doesn't render inexperienced peoples opinion useless. No need to be a dick about it, which basically is the foundation rule for this whole website. I wasn't being high and mighty but ok...
Sarcasm Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I "laughed" at ONE person how is that everyone?I wasn't being high and mighty but ok...how were you not high and mighty?
WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 how were you not high and mighty? I simply said it wasnt over produced or was affected by loudness... you are acting like i personally attacked him or insulted him which I don't recall doing...
Sarcasm Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I simply said it wasnt over produced or was affected by loudness... you are acting like i personally attacked him or insulted him which I don't recall doing...Thats what it looked like to everyone else. Not an attack, but kind of over the top arrogance. So let it go.
WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Thats what it looked like to everyone else. Not an attack, but kind of over the top arrogance. So let it go. No no arrogance at all (least I didn't post with that in mind) i simply posted it wasn't over produced or had loudness in it if it comes across as arrogance it wasnt intended at all

Spoopy Doo Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Take a verse out of 21 Guns. And re-write the chorus. #kthx
She is Amanda Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The loudness comment made me laugh as someone who's been in music for 15 years has worked in studios have my own plaques on the wall so yes the comment made me laugh as others who wants to bring up over produced or loudness talks when they clearly have no clue on what they speak of... WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I'm glad you got a laugh out of that. Laughing makes you live longer. Yep and with the week I've had I need all the laughs lol
She is Amanda Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Define overproduced? Because I really disagree. I think both AI and 21st Century Breakdown (especially the latter) are what I would define as "overproduced" The sound, the vocal filters, everything they changed after recording. In dos they definitely didn't stick to their usual sound. Which isn't a bad thing I just didn't like it. It just sounded really fake to me.
Sarcasm Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Nightlife could have a lot more umph in the bass.
JackInABox86 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I dislike the way american eulogy ends where it goes all trebly and billie's voice sounds nasty singing "mass hysteria, mass hysteria"... I actually hate that section of the song which is a shame because the rest of it is so good.
Ham Pascale Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Make guitar tone on 1039 less raw and more strong. And get rid of Dry Ice to add You Can't Fool Me instead.
Sarcasm Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Make guitar tone on 1039 less raw and more strong. And get rid of Dry Ice to add You Can't Fool Me instead.Dry Ice just won best guitar solo out of any Green Day solo, so I'm not sure if the people will back you on this one. Also, the reason 1039 is crap sound wise is because of the budget, not skill or anything
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I'd get rid of the fade out in the last 10 seconds of Dirty Rotten Basrards. Oh yeah, put back the verse that says "dirty rotten bastards" back into this song too... mmk, thanks.
