She is Amanda Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I agree the trilogy was over-produced and that is practically all I would change to Green Day songs. I also think that a lot of the songs on UNO had unnecessary "solos" and a lot of the songs would've been better without them just because it was really redundant when every song followed the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-solo-chorus pattern, but that might just be my own opinion.
The Disappearing Boy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 the backing vocals in the chorus of lazy bones are annoying.
Guest Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Putting Foxies style sax on most of Dos would make it a lot more bearable.
xXRustyJamesXx Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The guitars should be way louder on the trilogy... It should be like on Dookie or Insomniac
Of Rage and Love Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 If the 21CB version of Know Your Enemy was more like Tom Kitt's arrangement, its less repetitive and shorter and probably wouldn't be as hated by Green Day fans. If Last of the American Girls was mixed with heavier/louder guitar during the verses. If the studio version of Nightlife was more like the "funky" version that they were practicing in Quatro. If in the studio version during the solo of 21 Guns, Billie would sing along to the melody like he does live. If the saxophone solo in AAF was in the actual studio version. Jason Freeze is a badass. I wouldn't touch American Idiot, it is a flawless album.
Asa. Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Change that awful bridge section in Amy. It doesn't sound right to me. At the end of X Kid, the last line, when Billie sings "over and over and out" and thing he should take the pitch up on "out". It just seems like it would sound better that way.
gnash Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I think 99 revolutions would of sounded cooler if it started just like how it did the the TRE! Album cover video green day put up on YouTube This. I also think the repetitive chorus would be HUGELY improved if the 3rd '99 revolutions tonight' was a different lyric - something like '99 revolutions tonight 99 revolutions tonight ________ start a fire 99 revolutions tonight' No I can't think of anything good enough to fit the blank
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 the backing vocals in the chorus of lazy bones are annoying. TAKE IT BACK. If the 21CB version of Know Your Enemy was more like Tom Kitt's arrangement, its less repetitive and shorter and probably wouldn't be as hated by Green Day fans. If in the studio version during the solo of 21 Guns, Billie would sing along to the melody like he does live. Sadly, this would improve this album drastically for me (I'm not a huge fan).
The Disappearing Boy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 TAKE IT BACK. They're just too loud. It's a shame, as Lazy Bones is one of the best songs Green Day has ever written, although it doesn't spoil the song for me.
mrduckygoosy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I'd change all the backing vocals from the trilogy... They sound fake and are annoying, they should sound more like the ones on Nimrod or Warning, wich were perfect in my opinion, and Mike should sing all of them. And on the second verse of Welcome To Paradise I used to think it would be great if Billie Joe could sing the "And I'm never gonna go-ooo" like he did on the version from the dvd of awesome as fuck
Jon Benjamin Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I think Jesus of Suburbia during "they don't believe in me" should have the harmonies from the musical soundtrack, I love that.
WhiteTim Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I agree the trilogy was over-produced It wasnt over produced Its the least produced albums since Kerplunk...
Of Rage and Love Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Make Welcome To Paradise never exist. How dare you.

It's Splash Time Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I'd get rid of the fade out in the last 10 seconds of Dirty Rotten Basrards.

Clockwise Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I agree with Tim, I don't think the trilogy is over produced at all. I think some songs could do with turning up the guitars just a little bit, and some songs could lose the filter on Billie's voice. I've gotten used to how it sounds, and for the most part, I think everything sounds super clear and fantastic. Those are just little tiny things I would change. Also, the drums don't sound canned at all to me, they sound vibrant and extremely clear, much better than 21CB (which I think is compressed to hell at certain points).
She is Amanda Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 It wasnt over produced Its the least produced albums since Kerplunk... Dos is easily one of the most overproduced Green Day albums. I mean that was the point but I just didn't like it.
Fuzz Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Dos is easily one of the most overproduced Green Day albums. I mean that was the point but I just didn't like it. Define overproduced? Because I really disagree. I think both AI and 21st Century Breakdown (especially the latter) are what I would define as "overproduced"
Sarcasm Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Since when did you become my boss? If you dont like what i post dont read now please f off thanksdude it's just common decency not to act like your opinion is so good, anything else makes you giggle.
