WERE YOU GUYS GONNA GO TO MOHEGAN SUN ARENA IN WILKES-BARRE TOO?!

Seriously though if they don't come back I'm going to cry. I'm still bitter as fuck about my would-be first concert getting cancelled.

i was unsure if i was gonna go b/c of college, but she was most definitely going until they cancelled.

As weird as it sounds, I think this was kind of a cool time to be a Green Day fan. Despite how disastrous it may have seemed to non-fans, I've personally never felt more connected to the band, or to other fans. It was a time for us to come together and show our support for them, and it was a time for them to show their appreciation for us. A lot of other bands would have probably lost a good chunk of their fan base, but Green Day fans are different. We are dedicated, and we will stick by them no matter what. And they really did notice. It's been evident throughout the entire tour (in my opinion anyway).

So, if this is end of the trilogy era then I look forward to the next step. If not, I'm fine with that too!!

Matt posted a spoiler on a thread that was about if green day will go on tour after reading and leeds saying "north american tour for this fall is currently being put together" a month ago or so. And hes the main staff member who updates the news so idk.

What's weird is one of my friends is friends with Tre on Facebook (as am I) and she chatted him one day and he responded out of the blue. She asked about possible tour dates for Detroit again and he said in the fall would be likely. She's a diehard (not on here much though anymore) and wouldn't lie about it to us. She's not like that at all. So there's just so many conflicting messages about what the hell is going on. I doubt they even know.

Also, I really can't take anything Billie says with much more than a grain of salt at this point. To him, a "long time" is probably much more different than our perception. I mean, come on, we already know they're touring as early as February in Aussie.

Fall is right around the corner. Doesn't give much time to buy tix, at least compared to past tours...

They announced the original trilogy tour dates in mid-September, so technically if they waited a few weeks to announce what's next, it wouldn't be too far off. I think it just feels like forever because of all the crazy confusion this entire tour and our desire to know what's next.

So here's my take. I don't believe they're planning a fall tour. All the suggestions the band have made seem to suggest they're taking a break till the Aussie dates, that's my guess.

I was told things were going on behind the scenes, but I did not take that as "we're planning more tour dates". I think they're taking a break from the tour and going to focus on some other stuff. What that is, I have no clue. I'd love if they did some promo for the trilogy (late night tv, music videos), but I'm not sure if that'll happen at this point.

Also, isn't Billie Joe supposed to be helping with "These Paper Bullets" on Broadway? Maybe he'll do that in this time.

I honestly can't tell. There's a part of me that thinks they're ready to put this era behind them since it was a bit traumatic (my opinion). But I also know better than to make assumptions about what they're planning without them saying so directly. They're creative guys who love to work, especially Billie Joe. So I don't expect them to take a 7 month break and do nothing.

In reply to Heather's post, I'm on the news team as well, so maybe I can shed some light on this. We DID have the scoop that some fall dates were being organized when Matt posted that. Now, we aren't for sure on another leg happening soon.

EDIT: See above post for the scoop, haha.

It wouldnt really surprise me if they took a break until soundwave. I do want them to tour the us again cuz this would be the first time in anout 8 years id be able to go to see them. Part of me thinks they might have a 2nd leg after soundwave but obviously no one knows what to expect really. Its kinda fun but frustrating at the same time following this band considering how unpredictable they can be lol

Getting loads of friend requests all of a sudden?

Not gonna lie, I had a little nosy to try and find his account!

The 99 Revolutions tour is over, Tre confirmed it.

ikr? that would be my first green day concert, which probably would've been the best concert i was at besides papa roach in allentown in 2012...then again if i was picked for longview i would freeze onstage

I really liked the last line " Green Day is not a band that just sits around for 6 months doing nothing "

So.....with the announcement of 3 albums I was excited, and nervous.

Then last Winter was pretty shit with Billie's rehab and Ian Watkins' arrest. My two favourite bands and their frontmen going to rehab/jail.

A very confusing time for me as a fan and I was a bit lost for a while.

However the albums came and I loved them. My favourite is Tre, followed by Uno then Dos. I need more time with Dos, to get to know it better I think. Tbh I was gutted when Tre was brought forward cos I really didn't have enough time with Dos!

But this year has been way better. I've seen GD 18 times now and the Emirates gig is my favourite. Bringing back songs like Hitchin a Ride, Knowledge, Lomgview, Waiting was just amazing. It felt like seeing them for the first time all over again and they've looked so happy performing. Oh and Dookie in full....wow! Brought so many memories of my teenage years flooding back!

I wish they would do a residency like Less than Jake and do an album in full every night. That is my dream!

I don't feel this era is finished. We haven't had a proper tour, I've not heard enough trilogy songs live. Although I hope they save a tour for next year now as my annual leave for this year is all used up! I just wish I knew so I could plan my life!!

So just to clarify, you were told there was behind the scene action, but were not told what? (It's OK if you CAN'T tell us)

Also just an FYI "These Paper Bullets" is a Yale Rep production thus far and there hasn't been any talk of Broadway although I imagine/hope that if it is well received there it could find its way to NYC.

I also believe they're ready to put this era behind them. I sort of am, too, because I don't see them salvaging it in a satisfactory way in terms of promotion, so they might as well leave me to enjoy the trilogy as it is, a gift to fans, and move on from there.

I had a feeling that you guys had real scoop but that perhaps the band changed their mind or weren't definite. I do wonder what the deciding factor was for this break, maybe they thought Billie needed it or they just have a new approach of not over-touring themselves to death.

I'm not really sure what you mean by the question....

Sorry that was really poorly worded  So you were told they're doing SOMETHING behind the scenes, you just have no idea what that something is?

I do enjoy a lot of their new material, and I did have a phenomenal time at their live show this summer. But as a fan, I can only describe this era as being a little.. I don't know, traumatic? I just want them to push the reset button for a while.

I reckon It's a good thing that they are going to take a break. Whether that means they recharge the batteries or they work on some stuff, I don't know. What I do know is that when they come back, they will be 100% committed to being the best they can be. I absolutely can't wait for the next endeavour - be it a tour, album, dvd, musical, paper airplane making contest...ok maybe not the last one - but for this band, the band I love, I am willing to wait.

Something makes me think they will write this one off as a bad day at the office. Of course they would never admit that due to professional pride, but they're not really ones for looking back, going over old things, 'what ifs' etc.

But that Australian tour is kind of a spanner in the works. If it is part of the Trilogy tour, why is it 6 months after the rest of the tour? It had crossed my mind that it might be a Dookie tour to celebrate the album's anniversary, but that's just a guess.

i honestly don't think it's a part of the trilogy tour. they're doing a touring festival and that makes me believe that either;

a). they don't have enough money to bring their own tour here (which would make sense as the trilogy didn't sell well here)

b). they wouldn't be able to sell out an arena tour here again after the trilogy.

they're playing 2.5 hours at soundwave, so i'm assuming Dookie and then maybe hits/trilogy. who knows.

i'll get a twitter so i can keep you guys posted, hahaha.

It won't be over until the striped shirt is a rag, which Billie Joe will continue to wear

This has been a weird era, to say the least. I will be extremely happy when it comes to a close. I have to say, when we first heard about Billie entering rehab, I was very concerned and felt more connected to the band than ever during that forced hiatus. And then when they came back and started touring again... I don't know what happened, but things felt wrong. I was so happy to see them performing again and looking happy and healthy, but there was definitely something amiss, something that I couldn't and still can't put my finger on. All I know is that when I went to my concert in April, I just felt like "oh, okay, that was cool" after. The next day, it kinda felt like the show didn't even happen, and I moved on. At past GD shows, they were the absolute best nights of my life, nights that had me still smiling a week later.

There were a lot of things weird with this era, not just Billie going to rehab. It had a rough start when I wasn't all that crazy about Oh Love and proceeded to loathe the music video that went along with it (half naked girls, Green Day? Since when are you that kind of band?). I think the sound of the trilogy was excellent and I adored many songs from all three albums, but the lyrics weren't up to par with the usual quality of Billie's writing and I didn't care for the "sex, drugs & rock n roll" vibe of it all. The trilogy just felt very much so not the band I fell in love with.

I'm ready for a fresh start. I need a fresh start. While this band will always have a very special place in my heart as they have for the past 8 years, my active fan-ness depends on hitting the reset button.

I would love to live through a dookie/ American idiot anniversary tour.. As I only watched the AI era on the sidelines (aka never went to any shows) and was only 3-4 when Dookie era was taking place.

FINALLY. Someone who feels exactly the same as I do. Green Day shows have always been some of the best of my life, but when I saw them last April I felt almost nothing. And a lot of the lyrics, especially the whole "sex drugs & rock n roll" thing came off as unrelatable and contrived and I just felt alienated and turned off by it.

Everything has felt so unlike the band I fell in love with almost nine years ago. Green Day is still my favorite band, but I can't see myself being an active fan if the next era is like the Trilogy (and honestly I haven't really been following the news that closely lately anyway).

i really liked this era. regardless what they wrote about. fucking. drugs. love. sorrow. anger. i dont care

it was a nice to go back to the basics of pre American Idiot days and write albums that don't have any story behind it. just writing about whatever they wanted to
