Steven Seagull Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Would like to see if Green Day would skip Germany for few years. I am sure you would change your mind. But while you get a shows there like 3 times a year you are in no way allowed to judge what others must do. Not everyone has a great job you know. Not everyone has shit loads of money and time to be able to travel. -.- The only thing we want is for them to stop going to same places every year and start apreciate the fans "WORLD WIDE".
Guest Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Exactly! In the US, I paid $400 for a plane ticket and then an extra few hundred for hotels plus tickets, plus driving my ass all over New York, I mean this shit is WAAYYY expensive here. I get so jealous of European fans sometimes because I map out where the shows are and I'm like shit, I'd be attending everyone of these bitches for cheap if I lived in Europe The only thing you guys save on is ticket prices, because we get obnoxiously overcharged here First of all, the fuck you going to do about it? Secondly, I raised a fair point, but you're all acting like absolute man-children regardless, so yeah, even if I am not of moderation status at least someone that can actually feel pain can say something, and I don't see you being any more rational. MATE. Thirdly, I can see where this stands, but you should have emphasised that right at the start. There's been many, many, many times I haven't seen a Green Day show yet it's just a border away, and while I haven't whinged about it I haven't been that fortunate to have the time, money or opportunity to go all that way, and maybe some of these things should be taken into consideration for people who are in these countries as they might be in the same sort of situation. wat Would like to see if Green Day would skip Germany for few years. I am sure you would change your mind. But while you get a shows there like 3 times a year you are in no way allowed to judge what others must do. Not everyone has a great job you know. Then German fans would travel to other shows? There're quite a few German fans heading to the Brixton gig next week, and that was just over a week's notice. You gotta remember, Green Day are in this for themselves, at the end of the day. They have zero obligations to anyone.

You nearly hit the point home there; you can't stop them from being in these countries, and they do appreciate their fans 'world wide', but who knows? Let's see what happens. EDIT: HAVING SAID THAT, I'm unsure if they will come back to Scotland, but England is never far away (although, I am living in it right now...)
Firecracker Lell Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Can I ask, um, why are you arguing over this? Someone has the money, the time, travels & sees Green Day. But if you don't have the opportunity, and they do come near wherever you are, then why would you bitch about them not coming to exactly where you live? People have different lives. I hope you get my point.
Sarcasm Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Quit the bitch fest because both sides have completely arguable points. I may have gone thousands of miles to see a Green Day show but in no way does someone not willing to drive into another country not make them any less deserving to see Green Day. Sheesh.Font size abused for emphasis, don't be a dick.Everyone that doesn't live in CA has this argument. It's on topic to talk about where they have never played and how people feel about that. Yes it went overboard but it's calmed down now. Don't use the giant text, report it to a mod.
JIGD13 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 They need to come here to Ecuador, the reason why big bands never came here is because we had a shitty tax to events, but now it doesn't exist anymore so I think that a show here could be possible. A lot of international artist performed here Miley Cirus, Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Ricky Martin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Simple Plan, Pitbull, Guns ´n Roses, LMFAO, As I lay Dying, Marilyn Manson,Bon Jovi,Justin Bieber will be here too.
Bastard of 1969 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Croatia. They have never been in Croatia. I don't blame anyone. Neither Green Day, or whoever picks locations for tour. I mean, they should come. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones, Metallica...they all came here! It would be a dot on i for green Day to come here!
armatage Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the band liking countries more or less or anything like that, they don't even choose where they go for the most part. Their management books the tour according to where they know or can predict that tickets will sell well enough, and the logistics and costs of travelling etc will work out right, so that the show will be cost effective. It's about maths, they need to make a certain amount of money back from a show to cover the cost of it. If the maths work out they'll play somewhere and if the maths don't work out they won't, it's nothing personal. They've been playing more and more countries that they've never played before on this tour and the 21st CB tour, which I think shows they're very much open to playing new places if the maths means they can. They've played in at least 3 countries they'd never played in before on this leg of the tour so I think there's a good chance that they'll play in more at some point. Edit: I'm looking at this thread and seeing lots of one word posts. If it's just going to be a list of countries then it's not going to be staying open. If you want to talk about countries they haven't played and why etc then go ahead, but there's no point in just listing countries. As for management doing maths whether or not the tickets will sell well enough.. I thought it's more about the gig organizers in each country? Just yesterday my friend and I had a discussion how the few event organizers that we have in Lithuania won't invite any band to play just because they assume that it won't sell, meanwhile the fellow Baltic countries - Latvia end Estonia get a bigger variety of bands, and it's not like they play there for the first time as well (well, GD and BT playing in Estonia was a first, so far). This opinion of mine is based on the fact that Muse has played in Latvia thrice so far, and people are willing to travel there and the shows obviously sell well. Meanwhile, Lithuania, being a bigger country still barely gets any band to play here. The event organizers on here are dicks. I'm pretty sure we would get people to come to our country from 4 other places, as it's geographically convenient (Little Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Poland and maybe Estonia). Also, back from several years ago I remember Linkin Park members saying that they come to any country they're invited to come to. Therefore, I assume that it's more the event ogranizers' in the country thing, to whether get the band to play or not. And only then band managers schedule when and what place the band is gonna visit. That being said, you guys should blame your local gig organizers, not the GD management for not having the band play in your country.
Ritz Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 India. Metallica, Lamb of God, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry are some of the big names that have been here.
A song for the lovers Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 It can also be political problems. Where on Earth they could come to Iran? Even if they had thousands of fans here, they still couldn't! I just wish they'd have a concert in Turkey so I could see them too. And it's the truth about most of fucking middle eastern countries. Here sucks huge balls. I would travel to see GD, but well, here's another big problem, my parents! They'd never spend money on that. I'm still waiting for the Asian dates, maybe I could satisfy my parents 'till that time....pfff I'm from the middle east and it didn't stop bands to play here...
Robin105 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Green Day have played Peru, Singapore, China, and South Korea. All in 2010. It's such a shame at how many countries they haven't played. Some they will never go to like the Pacific Islands but I think countries like India, Indonesia, Isreal, etc will get a show sometime. Look how long it took them to play in Russia.
Firecracker Lell Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I'm from the middle east and it didn't stop bands to play here... I meant those countries who have political problems ( especially Iran ) & also the shitty religious problems.
BullwinkleCheech Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Yeah, because it'd make so much sense to leave out their biggest fanbases. This has absolutely nothing to do with bigger fanbases. Green Day could just as easily sell out an Israeli show as they would sell out a German show.
A song for the lovers Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I meant those countries who have political problems ( especially Iran ) & also the shitty religious problems. oh okay than... anyway, I live in Israel and the closet county is Iran hahaha if I wanna see Green Day, like, in Italy, I need to drive 3 hour in a bus just for the airport, but the bus don't go straight to the airport, so I need to take a taxi, then to wait hours in the airport, then flight 4 hours and then take a bus for the gig... forgot to say, with the luck I've got, there will a strike in the airport that day... I don't have the money and the time for that...
GreenDayGeorgia Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Thats all right about tickets and money but for example if they make concert in my country we have Azerbaijan , Turkey , Russia and Armenia around us many people will come as was on MTV Live Georgia because of that i added that video there was about 60-65 thousand people from many places even from Iran they just need to think about that a bit early and make good commercial and many people will come i was on some festivals in my country i can tell you that there is many GD fans but last i was on a Rock festival about 3 months ago and there was really huge mass about 30-40 thousand and they will everybody come to such a huge band's concert ))) oh okay than... anyway, I live in Israel and the closet county is Iran hahaha if I wanna see Green Day, like, in Italy, I need to drive 3 hour in a bus just for the airport, but the bus don't go straight to the airport, so I need to take a taxi, then to wait hours in the airport, then flight 4 hours and then take a bus for the gig... forgot to say, with the luck I've got, there will a strike in the airport that day... I don't have the money and the time for that... Yeah i totally agree we have many problems too in my country as you all know ((

I don't actually know that much about it and hadn't thought of that aspect, you're probably right. I guess it's a combination of whether things are right in the country for them to play there and whether things are right for the band to play there.

GreenDayGeorgia Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 It is MTV live Georgia and this place is called Square Of Europe , and it was full of people about 60-65 thousand and it was Enrique Iglesias and what you think how many people will come to see GD
bat-chen Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Since the European Union it much easier to go from country to country in Europe. you don't need a passport and you can drive in the bus or train for about 2 and I don't think it's so expensive hours almost everywhere. So if Green Day for example didn't play on Italy, you can always drive to Germany or Spain or whatever country there but what about those people who live far away from every country. it's easy to say "I can drive all around the world just for Green Day". When you drive from Spain to Italy to see Green Day for example, you don't really making a big effort. But for the people who live far away, for them it's not just 2 hours drive. for them it's a plan for a week and not everyone can afford the money to the flight, the food, the hotel and don't mention Green Day tickets. Green Day need to appreciate all there fans out there and making a small effort by playing in a country that they're never played before instead of just making another gig in USA or Europe (please don't kill me if you are from the USA or Europe )

Florence Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 How is a country to big? So let them come to Slovenia. It's a very small country you can get anywhere here in less than 2 hours. But wait ... you will say that now we are to small? I call that bullshit excuses. GD have played in Slovenia in 1996 before but I'm on your side and would say "GD come to Slovenia! " because I live super close to Slovenia. Since they played in Serbia & Russia for the first time this year, I'm positive that they will visit other countries they've never played before in the future too
yuan Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Some they will never go to like the Pacific Islands why if you don't mind me to ask?
Guest Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 why if you don't mind me to ask? Too small to be cost effective.
ChelseaDagger Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Just because it's not in your country doesn't mean it's not close. I'm seeing Green Day next week, and I'm taking an hour long flight and a 4 hour bus ride. Do you hear me complaining? Man up. This. So much.

Did I get to see them? No, because I'm 14 and I have parents who don't allow me to go to festivals/won't drive me somewhere that's hours away 'just' to see some band. If the age displayed is your real one, you're well capable of going abroad (which I'd really like to do if I was allowed to and envy everyone who has the chance to) if you want to see them so badly. If they, for example, played in Munich, that'd actually be closer for you than for me.
