also, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if those "remixed trilogy tracks" from a while back were released alongside the Dookie re-recorded singles as a split for promotion. That would be a great fucking idea.

DRB may still get played at reading or Brixton

With the tre coming out again and the mtv world stage being focused on the trilogy. Then on jeff show billie said he wanted to and would talk to the guys about it. Just cause dookie may get played. Does not mean other tril songs won't

Has it occurred to anyone that they might be listening to the live recordings from the most recent shows?

No because there's a metronome on it and they only used to play BoBD to a metronome

But in the recent shows they didn't play Pullig Teeth acoustic........... But i guess that song could be from the 21stCB tour :P

Forgive my ignorance, I listened to the video over my iPod in a restaurant. Now through headphones it definitely is not the live version.

I don't know how to feel about this. The feel that Dookie gives out is the way it is recorded. Unpolished guitar and bass sounds, backing vocals pretty much audible and stuff like that. If that changes, I am not sure if Dookie would be the same for me. But, I am interested at the outcome of this, no doubt.

I always enjoy the Dookie album was it was originally recorded. :/ I don't think any of the songs should be changed.

I'm of the mind that the songs are the songs. So what if they're recorded with different sounds? While Dookie does have outstanding production, it's the quality of the songs that are truly special. Playing them acousticly or w/e won't change that in my eyes.

4. Longview (Don't touch it)

Do you realize how shoddily Longview is actually recorded? It's all one track except some drums overdubs. They just put a bunch of differently equalized versions of the same track together. If there's any track that could use a redo it's this one, can you imagine how amazing it would sound with proper production?

I wonder if Billie Joe posted those videos on Instagram because he wanted people to freak out and immediately start analyzing every possible meaning behind the videos... Or if maybe he was just bored at practice. I wouldn't read *too* much into them, though it is fun to speculate.

With that said...

a remastered version of Dookie would make me sad. A live and/or acoustic version would be cool. Touring next year and playing Dookie in its' entirety at every show would be awesome, BUT only if they played other stuff too. A Green Day concert just wouldn't be the same without King For A Day :(

GREEN DAY ACOUSTIC 2014 COVER ALBUM! WHO'S WITH ME?

Kind of unrelated, but in the Jeff Matika Show, when asked about playing Dirty Rotten Bastards on tour, Billie Joe said that maybe they would play Dookie in full and then DRB. Maybe he wasn't joking...?

That arrangement of "Pulling Teeth" sounds pretty great -- a grown ass man version of that song. "Chump" sounds okay but a little too samey -- I'd be down with GD re-recording Dookie with the clean two-guitar setup they had on the Trilogy (without the terrible sheen they ended up putting on the Trilogy in post-prodiction/mixing.)

Anyone else find it interesting that, just a couple months ago, Billie was seemingly re-recording some Trilogy songs, and now they're seemingly re-recording Dookie songs? Wonder what's up their sleeve, if anything...

Why the fuck would they just record practice sessions?

Although Billie did trick us with remixing/re-recording Trilogy tracks, but anyways I'd love a re-recording of Dookie. I'm a whore for Green Day. Anything they put out, I soak up and love. There's nothing they can do that I wouldn't like. A collaboration with Justin Bieber? I'd no longer be a JB hater. Seriously, these are my idols that I've followed since I was 8. So don't try to tell me that there's something I shouldn't like or that I shouldn't like something just because it's Green Day. I understand why some people don't like the idea, and you don't have to be a "I love Green Day no matter what" fan like me to be a good fan. I'm not trying to say you guys aren't good fans. I don't care if Green Day records Dookie or Taylor Swift's Red. I just love new shit

I'd say it's just being in love with music. :)

Yea what happened with that? How did he trick us?

He was all like "in the studio remixing Wild One" or some shit like that. And everyone was like "OMG that means they're gonna release the remixed tracks on an extended version of Cuatro!" or some dumb ass shit like that lol

Dookie sound was just perfect.I don't see a reason they should re-record it.Maybe they are doing it for a better sound quality as technology has advanced in 19 years

Or maybe because they want to do something special for Dookie's 20th anniversary, or maybe cause they're Green Day. They put out a rock opera, a musical, and a three album trilogy. They set the bar in their work

I would love to hear a studio version of the AI era Knowledge (obviously without the live antics)

I don't think so.They never re-recorded anything for it's 10th aniversary so why now?

cause 20 is a bigger milestone than 10.

Beacuse Dookie is one of their most successful albums, and it's 20 years, not just 10. And these guys are Green Day- they're unpredictable. They re-recorded 409 In Your Coffeemaker, Maria, and Good Riddance. No one saw those coming. This shit just happens dude.
