My parents accepted my obsession with Green Day  My mother even called me from work when she found out that they are going to play in my hometown.

When my sister is listening to the radio and a Green Day song comes on she always tells me about it ^^

None of my friends are real Green Day fans. They know their names and their life story because I always talk about them but they are more into pop music :ermm:

I have turned two of my friends into huge Green Day fans, and they even went to see them with me and they both knew all the songs (even the oldies). My parents also like them and my brother and sister love them a lot. A bunch of my other friends are casual Green day fans, mostly because of me

Let's see...

.I have one friend who claims to be a super fan but only knows Holiday, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, 21 Guns and American Idiot.

.My best friend knows I'm obsessed but she's indifferent to them (I'm ok with that, I don't like the same music she likes so we're even)

.My best friend's twin brother says they're pop sellouts

.My sister doesn't care

.My dad likes Dookie, 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot

.My mom says I'm a "punk" whenever I mention them

.I have a friend who owns Bullet In A Bible

That's about it!

I know  But it's the truth... they don't know the boys names (and if they do, they got the wrong name) they don't recorgnize their pretty faces or song titles... anything anything. My mom still thinks they're British :ninja: But I don't give a damn!

How could you not recognize a song like Time of your Life? That's unheard of man lol.

I live in a small, conservative farming town. So most people either bash Green Day because of "American Idiot" and being "anti-American", or they've only heard song's like "21 Guns", "BOBD", or "Time Of Your Life", and label them as a "Sell Out", or "Not Punk". Then I tell them to listen to shit like "Westbound Sign", "Take Back", "Homecoming" or even "Burnout", and some of those re-think that statement. Otherwise, my parent's like Green Day (my mom took me to see them at Lollapalooza three years ago), my Grandma likes them, and I have a few friends that like them! Me and my old band played "Welcome To Paradise", "St. Jimmy", "American Idiot", "Basketcase", and "Jesus Of Suburbia" at a couple gigs.

I met my now best friend through a mutual love of GD. We both had tickets to the UK shows in '09 so decided to travel around the country and stay together in order to save some money. At the time we didn't really know each other that well. 4 years later, she's probably the most important person in my life and considered a part of my family. We even travelled to New York together to see the musical. I couldn't imagine doing anything even vaguely GD related without her, it'd just feel wrong! My favourite thing about GD is the fact that they bought Tracy into my life....also, they make pretty good music I guess... :P

None of my friends have even heard of them, except one really annoying one who is always scathing about them, saying they pretend to be punk and have only had about two records. Then about two weeks ago she saw a documentary about them and now is their biggest fan and she says she's always liked them "ever since I heard them on the radio when I was in the States in '83". Hmmm, so you heard them on the radio when they were 13? Pffft. Gives me chance to show my superior knowledge though. :)

I'm start to think I'm the only one who actually love (and saw live) both

I dont know... They're music seems severely depressing

Mmmmmm as for my friends they respect my passion for them, even If they don't like them they never say things like "Oh, they suck balls, I hate their songs to death".But that's It.

My family? No, not a chance, I mean they know 'em but they're simply not interested in their music.I would have loved for my brother to love them, cause we have such beautiful relationship It would have been so awesome to sing their songs together at a concert.

So these days the only people I talk about GD are you on GDC.

My few friends know I'm a huge Green Day fan, and it's nice when they say to me "I heard a GD song the other day and thought of you". Probably Good Riddance haha! They don't really care or understand, being an older fan. I had to explain to my even older sister once that GD is not just punk music, she thought it was a phase I'd grow out of! As for my two kids (twelve and nineteen years old), well they have to listen to GD everytime they get in my car because, it's my car and I rarely play the radio! :) When I'm told to stop talking about GD I just come here to the forums with you guys! Which is pretty much everyday.

You all seem to know many people who don't like GD. It's a total different situation in my case. Two of my friends really love the band, but not as much as me. One of the two came with me at one concert. I have a friend on internet who likes GD. She wanted to go with me to see the AI musical on Broadway, but, due to financial issue and time, we never went to see the show. 4 of my cousins love GD. One of my two brothers likes GD. My ex-babysitter likes GD (she is 67 years old and she has a big crush on Mike, lol.) Back in my high school years, most of my classmates love GD. Some of them even convinced our english teacher to sing Warning during lunch time in front of all the school (good memories... he didn't know the lyrics at all). My parents hate GD. My mother once told me she never wants to ever hear one GD cd again. But, it's ironic that most of my GD cds were gifts from my parents (it's like «Don't listen to Green Day, but we give you the albums.»)

My hubby, and both kids all are fans. Hubby and I have been fans since we first saw them in Petaluma in 1991. My kids grew up listening to their music. My kids both have been to Gilman Street shows. We go to Green Day concerts. I have seen them over 20 times.

Um, ok you're officially the coolest person I've ever "met."

And when I have kids, they'll be listening to Green Day from day one haha. The day they tell me that they don't like them will probably be the saddest day of my life.
