She is Amanda Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 From the two shows I went to, Pomona Fox Theater and LA Sports Arena, singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the Fox Theater. So many things were going through my mind at that moment. One of the worst opening bands had just gotten off stage. (The Stiches) There was just so much mystery going through all of our minds, with this being the first show back from rehab. What guitar would Billie use? What would Billie be wearing? What song would they start with? How were they gonna sound after this break? and most importantly all the questions regarding Billie's health. This was the first show I waited in line for. I was miserable after 10 hours of just sitting, but as the song came on, I felt the whole venue come together. All of us in that theater that night had waited 6 months for that moment. Most of us had spent an average of 10 hours in line. This sounds dramatic, but I felt like all of us, including the band, was coming to an end of a long journey. I was never a huge fan of Bohemian Rhapsody, but it's now easily one of my favorite songs.
Isabel Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 The Pittsburgh show was amazing in general, probably the best one I've ever been to. But when I got knocked out by the stage dive in Longview, Eddie walked up to me in first aid and said "Mike asked me to give you this." It was the jacket he'd been wearing for the last few shows. I was so touched by how much he cared and just super happy in general, because the show had been amazing anyway and then that happened. When I thanked him on Instagram he replied and said he was glad they got the jacket to me. For a couple of months after the gig, whenever I felt sad I thought of that and cheered up again. That is so sweet!! I've only been to one show on this tour ...well, unless Shepherd's Bush counts. It's so hard not to cry every time I see them though, I feel like such a spa. It's like 'Ok just don't cry, don't cry....ok there's Tre....don't cry, oh here's Mike...again, don't cry...Billie......blub, blub, blub."
dangreenday Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 My favourite thing was being at all the uk shows Emirates Brixton Reading and Leeds But my fav moment from each one was Emirates - Hearing the Intro and 99 Revolutions kicking in and just getting goosebumps all over Brixton - Dookie From Front 2 Back Reading - (Same as above / Seeing him Smash a guitar) Leeds - The crazy additions to the setlist
Jet Taman Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Ok, first of all that's amazing. Second, it's nice to see another Baltimorean!!! Were you at the Patriot Center show on April 4th? Yeah I was! Front row again! Between Billie and Jason! How bout u?
green_day_julsxx Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 ohh thats a hard... I think I've got three best Moments 1. It was my birthdy. I came home from the Airport from a week in Rome with my Latin Class and at home my Parents gave me a my birthday present.... tickts for the Green Day concert in Vienna! I broke down and cry, cause I was so happy 2. when Green Day walked on stage in Vienna ♥ 3. After the Concert I met one of my closest Idiot friends. She stood right in front of Mike and got some picks.... and she gave me one!! ♥ yeah.... my best Moments :)xxx
Minority103 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 It's not so simple to pick just one moment because all the concerts I've been at were so fucking amazing. Well I can write you some: Trieste: Taking the barrier just in front of Jason, when Billie came in front of me, smiled at me and took my Italian flag with their faces on it, when he asked me to give him my lighning blue horns, when he looked at me and sang my favorite song looking into my eyes (I wanna be the Minority), when Tré gave me one of his drumstick, and... *cries* when I met Billie and Tré after the concert outside the hotel, i talked to Tré and said 'Thank you' to him, I got an autograph from BJ and I hugged him ♥ Still today I can't believe this happened for real. Bologna: Ok there I was about to die! No pit, and all 14.000 people were pushing me against the barrier, this time I was at the barrier but between Mike and Billie (more near Billie) I was seeing all of them perfectly, I remember that a lot of people were picking from the guards and got out, actually sometimes I was about to tell the guard to get me out but when Billie, Mike, Tré, Jason, Whitewolf or Jeff looked at me I was like "No, I can stand for them" and it was worth ALL the while. Billie took my red horns, Mike smiled at me so so many times that I can't count them and he give me his pick, I was about to die, actually I cried ahah, Jason White smiled and saluted me, Tré always look at me and used to do strange faces to me ahah, and well, one thing I remeber so well is that Billie looked into my eyes and we sing along "Everything that I need, I need from you" like it was singing it just for me. Well, I cried again ahaha I was so exited that I even cried during KING FOR A DAY and Jason Freese smiled at me for this ahah in addiction the setlist was the best I ever heard or even imagined ♥ Locarno: Barrier again between Mike and Billie again I can't never forger when I gave them my big banana, in a first time was in a place where BJ couldn't see it so Mike decided to take it and give it to Billie, and when Tré come (it was during King for a Day) was about to take it but BJ throw it away (Now I got again it, they gave it back to me), here again Mike smiled at me and as in Bologna he pretended to being shot by one of my kiss ahah and then BJ, he pointed at me and sing along with me looking into my ice during Jesus of suburbia. Crying again ahah At the end of the show I've waited for the guys to come out but they come out from different exit, and by chance I meet Billie again but this time we were a lot more and not like Trieste (in Trieste we were just about 10 people) and he took and shook my hand, we stayed a lot in this position ahah then my hand took his smell, I swear. It was very very special to me, every single secondo of this beautiful experience, I've meet and known a lot of Green Day fans, a lot of my friends that are in GDC and I can't wait to do it again, and living amazing moments again and again with you, with them ♥ By the way I'm so happy to see that a lot of you gone on stage with them, I thing that's one of the best thing in the world, well it's my dream, and I always hope that one day it could happen to me Omg I wrote a lot, sorry Ps. Bohemian Rhapsody and Blitzkrieg Bop were such amazing moments, this two song before the show make you more exited than we already are, and seeing them going on stage during 99 Revolutions, y'know!
Iva Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Awww...I can recall some of your moments from Locarno. What a night!
whatshername0303 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 When they played Rusty James at the Québec city show, the only thing I was able to think was "They haven't played it in that tour before, oh my god, I'm so lucky!". But I loved the show in general with Nice Guys Finish Last, Stray Heart, etc.
desertrose Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 The Greek theater show! By far the best. backstage video Natalia Rose @ayonattierose 16 Apr On stage at the Greek Theater for Green Day's show! https://vine.co/v/bF0LxmFq0zP
Flyingdonutz Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 My favourite was watching the reading boulevard of broken dreams performance. Because nobody fucking comes near me.
Todd Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 April 1st, 2013. I stayed home from school. It was a Monday. Pretty sure I wore my Larry Livermore shirt, and my Green Day necklace and wristband. Went to the House of Guitars in Rochester, where there was a "meet and greet" with Mike Dirnt. Got there 3 hours early, but the crowd was already out the door. The speakers were playing Insomniac on repeat, probably about 3 times. After that, they called us all up to the stage in the back and started playing American Idiot, and they filmed a little video of us. American Idiot was also on repeat, about two times, then they just played the first two songs over and over. Listening to Jesus of Suburbia like 4 times over and over is painful, believe me. Especially when you've been waiting for three hours. Looking around, the building was packed. We were all lined up in the order we arrived, I think I was somewhere between 40 and 60. I'd have to go back to the thread and see what I said. Anyways, people brought things for Mike to sign. There was a 1 item autograph limit, but some people got away with getting two things signed. I saw people with Frustrators records, someone had a first pressing of 39/Smooth, which I was totally jealous of. I brought my Dos CD, and we all got Mike 8x10s put out by Fender. Finally, Mike Dirnt arrived. He sat up on the stage behind the table, and people started going up. Insomniac was put back on, and the energy really started flowing as Panic Song kicked in, and I was the next one up. Mike is definitely shorter than I thought he'd be. We exchanged a few words, he signed my Dos booklet, and I shook his hand. Before I knew it, it was over. All that waiting I had done, the best part had come and passed in a matter of seconds. The line emptied out into the store room, where I bought a digipak version of 1039, since I only had the normal jewelcase version. Then I went home. In the car, I accidently smeared Mike's autograph on my CD. I was devastated, but hey, it's not the end of the world. At home, I quickly had some chicken patties for dinner, and then drove back out to Rochester for the big show. I'd been to the Blue Cross Arena numerous times to watch Lacrosse games. I easily found my seat, got a t-shirt from the merch stand, and went back to my seat to watch the show begin. With full intentions to record the show, I had my phone put, ready to record once The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly kicked in. Oh, before I forget, the opening band sucked in my opinion. Anyways, Green Day came on. Unfortunately, I was kinda bored, knowing pretty much exactly what the setlist was gonna be, from watching the setlists of previous shows. But Green Day really stirred things up by throwing in Geek Stink Breath, 2000 Light Years Away, I Don't Know, and Sweet Home Alabama. Usually they play those last two songs in Disappearing Boy, but for some reason they did them after 2000 LYA instead, damn I really wanted them to play Disappearing Boy. My phone ran out of memory during Highway to Hell, so I took out my ipod and recorded the rest. My Ipod ran out of memory during Minority though, so I stopped recording. After the show, I went outside and waiting by the buses. It was probably about 25-30 degrees, freezing cold. I waited by the buses for at least an hour, and then Tre came out! He talked with the fans, took pictures, it was great. Unfortunately he didn't play Like a Rat Does Cheese for us, like he did in Seattle 2009. Tre was tired though, and after hanging out with us, he got on the bus. There were about 15 of us on one side of the buses, and probably another 15 on the other end. Mike came out with Jason White, but he went straight on the bus without talking to us. He waved though. Jason followed him, but came back out with a box of applejacks, gave the box to the guy next to me, and said that Mike wanted us to have them, and to share them with everyone. Of course, the guy didn't share them at all, and the. When Billie came out, he got the box signed by Billie and then took off. Billie was unbelievably short (lol no offense Billie) and surrounded by security. He shook hands and said hi to everyone on my side except for me, I was on the end and he missed me. Then he went on the bus, and it was done. It was midnight, and I went home. The next day, I don't think I skipped school, maybe. I didn't get to sleep until 2, so yeah, probably. But I spent my day cutting up the tracks from my recording and uploading them on here. My step dad comes in and says I have mail. He hands it to me, and I'm like "wtf is this?". So I open up the bubblewrap envelope, and what do I get? The fucking advanced promo version of Cuatro, I was 1 out of 16 winners from the Idiot Club. Actually, I didn't end up watching it for quite some time. I think a week or two. But anyways, best two days of the fucking year
beejeezee Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Billie Joe thrusting his crotch right on front of me at the Phoenix show. That was amazing.
gmcloughlin Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I think the highlight for me was just seeing how happy Billie looked at the Emirates gig. He was beaming for most of the night. That was pretty special
etty_gd Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 My best moment on this tour was bittersweet, but still awesome When Billie Joe was looking for someone to play the guitar during longview at Rock Werchter he, at first, chose me, but then didn't. Although it might have looked like I wasn't confident enough. That's only because I wasn't shure for how long I've been playing the guitar. Oh well, at least I now know the right technique to get his attention and after all it was the best show I've seen so far, mainly because it was my first time at the barrier. Here's the vid with Billie asking me: http://youtu.be/J66Hy3mHNU0
Todd Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 If you've seen Green Day live, you know the great feeling you get when Billie screams the name of your city! It's amazing
LisaBJA Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Milan: it was my first Green Day concert
dirnt286 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Both times I saw them were great. The first was driving down from Oakland to LA to see their first show since iHeartRadio. The second was seeing them on their home turf in Berkeley on a beautiful night. I can't pick one. They were both my favorite moments.
