Dirntbag Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Oh gosh. This tour was what enabled me to see my first Green Day concert so I'm pretty much in love with all of it, especially the show I actually got to experience in Toronto. I think the best moment may have been when Bohemian Rhapsody came over the speakers and everyone in ACC was singing along. It was followed by Blitzkreig Bop and the drunk bunny stumbled on to stage. I remember this feeling of the butterflies in my stomach all tearing out at once and I was in such a state of awe. It sounds so cheesy, but when that concert opened and the lights dimmed for Green Day to run on stage it was one of the best things I've ever experienced in my entire life.
Iva Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 If we're objective, the best thing on this tour was the 27th May show, hands down. BECAUSE DOOKIE LIVE. I know the next one was similar, but this one was the first, so... My personal highlight is that, unlike in case of all 1995-2012 tours, I was actually there. Waiting for 18 years paid out, for a change. And my other personal highlights are the wonderful people I met.
Tubbie Head Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Mine was just being there, in middle of an incredible crowd and feeling how much everyone there loved my boys (I always feel like I'm the only one y'know) It's just so good to hear people singing along and get involved... It's a moment of bond between thousands of people that are all there for the same reason, and enjoying that same moment, it's unforgettable!
Iva Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 And all of those hearts beat together as one. You're absolutely right.
Sir Psycho Sexy Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 The first show back from rehab, when Green Day walked on stage and then Billie came out and you heard a huge roar from the crowd. It was like, "Welcome back." Or playing Dookie front to back. I don't know why people aren't mentioning Dookie more. Probably because most of the people who posted so far haven't been to that show I just came here to post about that. The best part of my show was when Billie said "We are going to play Dookie all the way through" and I thought that he was kidding at first but he wasn't
bagelfeet Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Has no one mentioned fucking DISAPPEARING BOY IN CHICAGO? OMG when that happened my heart started racing so fast that I could have died
dirnt286 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I was lucky to be at the Pomona show, the first one with Billie back from Rehab. With the plane flying over the town saying "We support you Green Day" to Billie Joe walking out on stage for the first time, it felt really special. It was great to see them in Berkeley too. I moved down from Seattle to be with my GF (who is just as much an equal a lifelong Green Day fan) and this was awesome to be able to walk from her place to the venue and grab a beer after.
Asa. Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Stay the Night and Letterbomb in Moline were fantastic. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a video of LB on YouTube, but during the breakdown bit, Billie dropped to his knees on stage, and the ambience was incredible, and I haven't been able to find any other concert videos just like how this was.
Makingyourmascarableed Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 "Bohemian Rhapsody" playing through the speakers before The Ramones and the theme from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly if that counts as a moment. Also, seeing them walk out to said theme especially because it was my first time seeing them live and just that feeling of seeing the band in person and not from videos on youtube/pics from GDC/GDA/Tumblr Hearing Letterbomb, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Brutal Love, and X Kid live. "Life ain't pretty but sometimes, it sure can be beautiful." - Quote from the Brooklyn show
The Grohl Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I just came here to post about that. The best part of my show was when Billie said "We are going to play Dookie all the way through" and I thought that he was kidding at first but he wasn't PAH! Lucky!!! Seriously, I wish I could've been at that show. Sounds amazing!
Iva Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I thought two of us who were there and a couple who weren't posting about it is enough. Plus the quote in my signature...23ropvjm34-v45ik=v45!
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 This. That is all. Seriously though, I only cried happier tears when I my fiance proposed to me. And that's even questionable. My first concert. And first unexpected Good Riddance of the tour. Whatever. No shame. Besides going to two shows (April 6 and April 9 and having epic, memorable moments at both), it was definitely hanging out in the NA Tour Threads! They were hella fun.

Ughh Bohemian Rhapsody moment made me the happiest I've ever been for the year.. then when I saw BILLIE MIKE AND TRE - happiness overload.
Jason Fox Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I only went to one show during the tour, (it was the show in Pittsburgh, on Easter Sunday no less), and it the best part was when Billie told the crowd to "Fuck school and fuck work, we're rockin' tonight!" This. That is all. Seriously though, I only cried happier tears when I my fiance proposed to me. And that's even questionable. My first concert. And first unexpected Good Riddance of the tour. Whatever. No shame. Oh and that. I'm assuming that was the same show I went to...? Any way, if it was, the absolute BEST part was when Billie rushed back out onto the stage to play Good Riddance. My favorite song, almost thought he wouldn't play it. And it was also my first ever Green Day concert, therefore the best day of my life.

Also my first concert, so I completely understand. Did I mention I was also in front row? I don't recall seeing you in the concert thread, or did I just forget? Also, what part of Ohio are you from? I'm from the "northern part" too. Or have we had this conversation before as well? Ha. My memory is bad.

My memory is bad. Heh heh, I was all the way up in the nose bleeds with my dad. If I recall, I believe we had the highest seats. Anyway, I'm from, like, Cleveland-ish area. Just a little more southern than Cleveland, I should say.
Luka467 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'd have to say, Belgrade and Vienna, where they played Dookie in full were the best two shows on the tour. Although having Nuclear Family dedicated to me in Belgrade was just as good (but I might be a little biased here)
R_Z-Log Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I saw them in Virginia on April 4th. First of all, this was my fourth time seeing them live and I have to say this was the best show I've been to. Not just the best Green Day show, but the best concert period. BUT one moment that really stands out was during Letterbomb when Billie touched on his situation with rehab and everything. He talked about how everyone has to go through shit, and at the end he said "Life is not a fucking party, life is a celebration!" and for some reason that really resonated with me and I got a little emotional. I was just so happy to see HIM so happy and healthy, and back with a vengeance. He was AMAZING that night. Here's a video of it from YouTube... If you skip to 2:38 that's when he starts talking. I'm sure he said the same thing at every show, but it was still an incredible moment for me.

Although having Nuclear Family dedicated to me in Belgrade was just as good (but I might be a little biased here) The person with the sign thinks it was for them...they were further in the back. So, who was it, them or you? Were there two signs, one in the front, one in the back? Confused.
X-Saint Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 My 2 favorite moments were April 6th since it was my first Green Day show, but I got there last minute, and April 9th because me and my mom waited in line all day long. April 9th was amazing because I met so many new friends who finally shared something in common with me ,Green Day, and it was so surreal getting to talk, hangout, and dance with them! Billie also smiled at me and they played Carpe Diem, J.A.R., and Who Wrote Holden Caulfield!
desertrose Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Seeing them at home in Berkeley. A fantastic show. I also went and saw them in LA, but Berkeley was special. Billie Joe's family was there too and you could feel the energy and just being home playing for family and friends.
Lacky Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 All of these momets are BEAUTIFUL. I'm so proud to be part of the Green Day family. We are so full of emotions, gratitude, happiness...I can only be grateful to everyone who has told his "favourite moment", you made me cry :')
naliuj Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I just wanted WMUWSE, 21 Guns, EJN, and Good Riddance...otherwise I was totally happy with everything they did! Stray Heart was great Ive seen it a few times so could you please tell me what WMUWSE is? I just came here to post about that. The best part of my show was when Billie said "We are going to play Dookie all the way through" and I thought that he was kidding at first but he wasn't At the show i went to he said they would play Kerplunk through. But he didnt. My 2 favorite moments were April 6th since it was my first Green Day show, but I got there last minute, and April 9th because me and my mom waited in line all day long.
