WhiteTim Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 If there was no 1039, 1000 Hours and Slappy would be on itunes by themseles, and Reprise has re-released them on vinyl with 39/Smooth, and in the vinyl singles box. And they'd be on youtube of course Yes NOW but itunes wasnt around forever Labels dont keep EPs in print forever as there no money in them to keep labels releasing them As far as vinyl they only sell so much casual fans dont buy vinyl... The band doesnt hate 1039 if they did it wouldnt be in print anymore at all If they sold all 3 seperate on cd and itune format lets be honest alot of people wouldnt buy them
Lannister Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Great excuse to eat cake and listen to Disappearing Boy!

And as far as the EP's as far as vinyl yeah still in print but on cd you can not (unless you get 1039) WHICH WAS MY POINT Now if you can show me where I can get slappy or 1000 hours on cd by themselves not on 1039 I'll give you my new Mercedes... My post was based on if 1039 didnt happen the two EP's would have been out of print until itunes came out in the 2000's... as labels dont really keep EP's around that much except on vinyl... There are alot of EP's that are still in print in vinyl format but not on cd anymore
Fuzz Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 So is the consensus that we should have 39/Smooth listed as their first album on this page? http://www.greendayauthority.com/music/ So include 39/Smooth and 1039/SOSH?
86ed Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I love everyone making sure that they say the word "compilation". good for you. i'll bet you have better luck finding 1039 smoothed out slappy hours album than 1000 hours, 39/smooth, or the slappy record. some people just need that gratification of feeling like they know more than others. me? well i'm going to rock out to this "fulll length album" and not care that it is a collection of their first 3 "albums" but be greatful that someone put them all together cause they were that good.

MrNickPeters Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Very good album. Although this is a pretty late reaction I still want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY 1.039/sosh! My favorite songs are: i was there, road to acceptance, knowledge and only of you. But non of them is bad, love 'em all!
Vic_Rattlehead Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Do you hear yourself? Because it's easy? That's cheap and cheating. One album and two EPs. That's not a lot. And the. One song from a compilation, which I just threw into my bonus tracks album on itunes. Oh god get over yourself, do what you want, I'm just telling you what the majority of the GDC thinks.

alienlifeform Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 according to GDA "Originally, the album was released in 1990 as 39 Smooth, but it was reissued in 1991 as a compilation album to include the band's two other EP's; Slappy, and 1000 Hours." if 1039 is a reissue how can it be the debut full lenght album??
