Guest Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 There is only one nickelback in rock music but there are thousands of lil waynes in hip-hop
Hermione Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Yes I know very little rap music, not that I hate it.It's not my kind of music.I only hear the mainstream ones like the ones I mentioned and I like them.So what's the crime in not listening to non-mainstream artists when I'm not interested in them?it's not that a person's love for a genre is explained by how much non-mainstream he listens to.All I said was that I don't like the rap music today as all that shit is not what rap music is all about. What's wrong with that?I listen to all kinds of music-From dubstep to classic indian, you name it.And frankly, rock music today is not what it was once.Fun,Imagine Dragons, Gotye etc are not exactly 'rock'.So it's not that I have something against hip-hop music only.I was not talking about hip hop in general but it's trend today. There is only one nickelback in rock music but there are thousands of lil waynes in hip-hop Not saying there's anything wrong with not listening to it. But if you don't listen to it you can't really judge it, just like you couldn't judge all rock music from a select few mainstream acts. You'd be very lucky if the only bad rock act you'd heard was Nickelback! There's loads of bad rock acts. And loads of good ones. It's the same in every music genre, always has been and always will be, and it's no different for rap than it is for any other. Slightly more on topic: I'm glad I heard this because I wasn't familiar with Angel Haze but I'm now checking out some of her other songs. She's pretty good.

I never said I don't listen to rap.I listen to it and I like it.It's the coolest genre around. My problem is with the artists. And please don't talk about nickelback anymore.I don't want to spoil my day

And please don't talk about nickelback anymore.I don't want to spoil my day Well that's cool. I do think maybe if you don't listen to that many different rappers it probably makes it seem like a higher percentage of them are bad though. Don't get me wrong I know there's some crappy ones, but there's a ton of good ones too especially if you check out some less well known ones. And done haha.
Kitty Purry Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 but I'm Indian and I hate the new rap artists, except Mackelmore. Meanwhile- Eminem is not releasing new stuff for like 3 years now. Nobody knows when 50 cent's new album is coming out. Tupac died a long time ago. And dr.dre, I miss him. Jay-Z is an average rapper with a lot of hype around him. And whether white or not, Eminem INFACT IS the best rap artist of today. Frankly,The only reason people started bitching and hating rap/hip-hop music is Lil fucking Wayne. He was the one who started with the 'nigga nigga' bullshit.hip-hop was a good genre once.It still is but that dude has inspired lots of 'swag' loving creatures like him. dude just because you're indian doesn't mean you can say the N-word. I can't call you the d-word just because I'm also brown. You don't make sense. Why do you care if black people use the n-word in their songs. It's their word they can say it as much as they want. And eminem is not the best rapper of today. his older stuff was good but his newer stuff is just pop rap crap. and you only like Macklemore???? funny that he's white also. J-cole, kendrick lamar ever heard of them.?
mallorymaloney Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Maybe people on GDC were cool about it before because it was a different place back then. Lots of things are different now. Yeah, and for the most part, it sucks. The entire world's becoming politically correct in a ridiculously strict sense; You literally can't say anything now without it seriously offending/hurting/angering/'triggering' someone/an entire group. Even a joke or a harmless offhand remark gets torn to shreds and puts the remarker in a horribly disfiguring light. It's nuts.
JackInABox86 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Joe Budden. 'Nuff said http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHtwU7xFLRY&list=PLD199AF915B74621F&index=1
WhiteTim Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Joe Budden. 'Nuff said Hell yeah his Mood Muzik series are one of the best series around
Akshat Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 lol oh you're one of those people huh? You do realize racism is bigotry+oppression right?. White people are not being oppressed in the western world. So please stop with this reverse-racism nonsense Yeah I'm maybe a bit biased toward whites but that's only because of the way white people have treated people of color for centuries and still do. You have no idea how many times I felt lesser than a white person or wanted to be white because of the comments you guys make (not on here but real life) . Maybe I over-reacted in this thread but there has been so much racial issues going on right now (zimmerman trial, paula deen mess) I'm just a bit emotional about this stuff right nowl. and whenever I go to a gd concert I rarely see a non-white person. I know they have a huge following in south-america and asia so that was perhaps a bit stupid to say. dude just because you're indian doesn't mean you can say the N-word. I can't call you the d-word just because I'm also brown. You don't make sense. Why do you care if black people use the n-word in their songs. It's their word they can say it as much as they want. J-cole, kendrick lamar ever heard of them.? You're officially the most rascist person I ever met. What you wrote is so stupid that I don't even need to give you a proper reply. Now just don't bother me with your bullshit.Thank You
Liam Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 dude just because you're indian doesn't mean you can say the N-word. I can't call you the d-word just because I'm also brown. You don't make sense. He never called you the N word though, he was stating a point that he like's the fact she doesn't use the word. He never used the word against anyone, he was just proving a point. I am going to have to ask you both to stop. If you have a problem with each other than take it to personal message and keep it out of this thread.
