Basket Case is about panic attacks and Bran Stew is about insomnia.

Also their name is a pot reference, so that one is pretty much given.

Yeah I know but still, "Am I just stoned?" and insomnia as a result of meth use.

When he was talking about the name of Insomniac he said his kid kept him up.

Unless he was just making everything PC.

Here are some that I have noticed that occur most often:

Guns (and weapons)

Television

Mind

Being confused or overwhelmed by the media

Matters of the heart (I believe the word "heart" appears in a majority of the Trilogy tracks and a majority of Green Day songs all together)

Stopping when red lights flash. Don't stop. Stop. Baby.

Suicide

Lost Love

Being lost and/or not fitting in

Lots and lots of girls. They have so many songs that are simply named after a girl and usually they're strong female characters.

Several of which start with the letter A:

  • Adrienne
  • Ashley
  • Amanda
  • Amy

Probably just a coincidence, but interesting.

Almost positive he does. There hasn't been any real reason for him to quit lately.

I honestly think he still smokes weed too. He's educated about it so I think he realizes its not at all what caused his problems. I wonder what brand he smokes though

He said he didn't anymore in an interview but that was a while ago and he is capable of lying after all.

I still don't get the significance of the whole "red lights flash" thing.

The "left behind" expression:

"The words I left behind" - Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?

"Like a child left behind" - Extraordinary Girl

"Old days are fine but are left so far behind" - Sweet 16

"Your sympathy will get you left behind" - Nice Guys Finish Last

"But it's like a child that was left behind" - The Forgotten

"And you're feeling so left behind" - Carpe Diem

IDK, I think it was in the gravity bong one. He joked that it was cause he had kids and there were little people who looked like him running around.
