Lannister Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 My grandfather had died the previous day so for the most part it was a somber day for me. I almost decided not to go but I'm pleased I did. My grandfather had been a musician all of his life so when Green Day took the stage not only did it give me time to escape from the situation I was also, in my own way, able to celebrate his life and send him my own little prayer.
Psycho Britney Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Mine was on the AI tour on Saturday 18th June 2005 at Milton Keynes Bowl. It was such an amazing day and gig, and it's brillant that they recorded the weekend and made Bullet in a Bible. I remember things about the overall day like the weather-it was a baking hot day, no shade. I also remember thinking that the crowd looked massive, which it was!lol! We didn't manage to get into the golden circle, but we got a fairly good spot in the crowd (though looking back now I know I wouldn't be happy standing that far back!). I can remember getting such a surge of adrenalin at our first glimpse of the guys coming on stage, we went mental. I absolutley loved hearing them play Maria, we sung our hearts out. I'd still love to hear this song in the live set's now! The one one thing I thought at the end of the gig, was how I really wanted to go see them the next night. I was absolutley gutted not have tickets for the Sunday show, it was safe to say I was hooked!
Tinii Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 August 30th 2012, Berlin. I was in first row in front of Billie and I still have no idea, how I did that I was so excited that now I remember only single scenes from the show. All memories are blurred like beautiful dream, that I had year ago. I was there, too. It was My first Green Day concert and it was just amazing. When I think about This day/night I need to cry Good memories :'))
Robbie Random Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Brixton Academy, Wednesday September 20th 1995. I remember wondering who the support band were and getting very excited 10 years later when I found out it was Ben Weasel's old band Riverdales. I also remember getting over excited when they opened the show with Welcome To Paradise and getting super excited some 15 years later when I finally got a copy of the "Punk Academy" CD.
Insomniac85 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Been a fan since '95 but didn't get to see them until The Warped Tour in 2000. amazing set.
