Mr. Shluffy Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Build me up buttercup Epic. I'm thinking I would like to hear Green Day cover some new Green Day songs that we haven't heard yet.
Jimmy Strummer Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Oh my God, there is sooooo much I want them to cover in the studio. I wanna hear them tackle anything by The Beatles, The Stooges, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, Dead Kennedys, The Replacements, Husker Du (other than "Don't Wanna Know If You Are Lonely"), The Clash (other than "I Fought The Law"), The Who (other than "My Generation" and "A Quick One..."), or Nirvana. Also, anything from Bad Religion's Suffer would be good.
WhiteTim Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 For some reason Tom Waits I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You I can picture Billie alone with just his acoustic singing it....
HolyHandGrenade Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 American Pie by Don McLean would be soooo gooood. Also... - 1000 Answers (The Hives) - Panic Station (Muse) - Learn to Fly (FF)
The Snark Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I'd love it if they would cover songs that featured Billie's voice a la Brutal Love like Across the Universe, Hallelujah or Blue in the Face by Alkaline Trio. Also (and I know they're sung by women, shut up) Crazy and I Fall to Pieces by Patsy Cline, or Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.
That Dude Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Jimmy Jazz by The Clash. Or Lost in the Supermarket, which sounds like something they would do.

Yes, i want Love Me Tender or Earth Angel by The Penguins!!!
Jean Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 i would lose my shit if they covered across the universe. i can actually hear it in my head now. Enjoy! 1:35 ALSO at 4:25, you see Tre wipe a tear from his eye.
jengd Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 There is a really pretty poor quality cover on Youtube of Billie Joe singing Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis, which still sounds great. To be honest, he could probably sing my shopping list and I would love it. Girly sigh.
itz_brittany87 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Never gonna give you up- Rick Astley. It would be hilarious if they rick rolled the crowd at a show. That would make my day! I wanna hear something outside of their "normal" genre. I'm not sure what but something, something would make them stretch as artists.

Guest Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Tie Your Mother Down - Queen In the Flesh - Pink Floyd (the second part--I want to see Billie Joe "interrogate" the crowd) Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash I'm on Fire - Bruce Springsteen Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who Hound Dog - Elvis And, for the ultimate win, I want to see Billie Joe take a stab at Bohemian Rhapsody. Listening to a bootleg of him from Broadway, one gets the impression that he's got the range to pull at least the ballad and rock parts off, and that's all Queen did live anyway, so...
