Jimmy Strummer Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I know someone didn't want this to turn into a band-bashing thread, but dude, Rush is so fucking overrated!!! I'm so sick of everyone saying they're awesome and legendary and innovative when all they did was try to cash in on that prog-rock trend in the mid to late 70's where everyone wanted to copy off of Pink Floyd!!! To me, apart from Neal Peart, there's nothing about Rush that's worth any kind of appreciation.
Akshat Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 10) Emerson, Lake and Palmer 9)Primus 8) Cream 7) The Police6) The Jimi Hendrix Experience5) Muse4) Nirvana 3) ZZ Top 2) Motorhead 1) Rush
GenesisJames Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I agree that it's probably because Jason is a part of them now. On a somewhat related note, I love seeing Rush get some good recognition.
musso_kn Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I'm all for people being genuinely ignorant about a lot of things, but if you listen to rock and know jack shit about Motörhead then it's safe to say that all hope may be lost. I'm going to be a massive bastard here and say that Muse are shapeshifting reptiles. If anyone knows what I'm on about, they'll get why I said that. Please. Enlighten me. EDIT: Wait. This either about some action movie series I've never seen or the illuminati.
Neurotics Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 What u don't know who the motorhead are? Lemmy is one of the heaviest musical voices i've ever heard. I can't put anyone close to Lemmy. Maybe Iggy Pop!
Guest Trotsky Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Are you kidding me? As much as I love GD, they don't deserve to be on this list. It's debatable that the one's that are on this list doesn't either, but GD definitely would not make top 10. Top 50 maybe. Top 10, no. First of all there aren't so many great rock trios. The list has to do only with rock trios. If it was generally a list of the best bands obviously there would be in it The Beatles, The Kinks, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Clash, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Ramones and many others. When you see a band like Muse who listed over The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Police and Cream it's reasonable to think that Green Day deserves to be on this list even as the tenth.
Iain Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This either about some action movie series I've never seen or the illuminati. That's the one! As much as they believe in the works of David Icke, how do we know they are actually the catalyst to his work? Note: I don't believe this reptilian shit, but if it was true, I can bet Muse are probably some of them.

I never said Muse deserved to be on the list. I may have exaggerated by saying top 50, but it is easy to come up with 10 trio bands, that somewhat changed rock music, with most of them coming before Green Day. When making a list like this, I would put bands that had the most impact on the genre in the list instead of a personal favorite.
