Heather are you going to 54 below?

Sadly no... well... I wasn't planning to because my mom is coming in from Jersey to see this (she's a huge Green Day fan too), and then it's past her bedtime to go to 54 Below and I was going to escort her home/to Grand Central and then just go home myself (to Brooklyn) cause I'd be all awkward and alone at that point  I wonder if tickets are still available.

Are you going?

Tickets for 54 Below are still available but I'm not going either. it's the touring cast that's performing. First of all I bet the touring cast is great but I've never seen them, second the original cast will always be the best in my opinion and third I really can't spend another 15 dollars. I just mainly want to see Broadway Idiot.

Give the touring cast a chance they really are great. . If I wasn't from Long Island I would go. I just hope someone films it and give a recap

Plus krystina might get some of the broadway idiot people to come who knows.

I'm sure they are great. The people I'm going with don't really want to go anyway and I can't really spend any more money because I go on vacation the next week. You're also from Long Island? Me too. What part?

Has anyone tried picking up their tix from the box office yet?

Not yet. I guess I'll probably just do it day of... perhaps a few hours beforehand...

I was thinking the same thing, since it never said you could or couldn't. But since it seems there are no assigned seats in the theatre I was thinking it would be better to get there a bit early anyway.

Yea, although there are no assigned seats I think it's quite organized and you should line up a little earlier. That being said it's a TINY screening room (compared to many commercial movie theaters) and since it's on a big screen and not a play, I'm much less concerned about getting "a good seat". Although I guess I don't want to be in the front row and crane my neck... but then again I'll have virtual Billie Joe practically on top of me, so maybe there are some benefits :P

It totally slipped my mind that there's supposed to be a Q&A with the director after this, right? (Did I dream that up? ) Should I be thinking about things to ask?

So, is no one here doing the 54 Below thing?

I have to be at a birthday party thing for my gran today, so I'd be ruhing to get there, or else I'd totally buy tickets to this last-minute :P (yes, hey're still available).

I thought the 54 Below thing is on Monday just like the movie.

54 below is Monday night.

It would of been better tonight but what could you do.

oh, duurrr...I got my dates mixed up, sorry. Maybe I can pull this off after all, then. Presuming I don't have to babysit my nephew :P

In casting news for the musical. Daniel c Jackson is taking over for st jimmy and Mariah McFarlane is new heather. Rumor is Sean Michael Murray is taking over for Johnny.

Yeah, I've been to that theatre before and I hate being in the front row so I wanna get there maybe an hour or two before. There are 2 people that were listed for the Q&A, I forgot who they are though oops!

"We are planning up a big opening event for ‪#‎BroadwayIdiot‬ with ‪#‎GreenDay‬ - stay tuned..."

"Green Day are on the road, but sadly not in NYC. The director and producer will be at the Lincoln Center tomorrow night. See you there!"

Via BroadwayIdiot

So, what is this mean?! :o

Can someone confirm? ^^^

Posted

I'm confused by the Broadway Idiot tweets too. Why are they on the road? Reading & Leeds aren't for a while, I had assumed Mike's plane picture on IG meant they were coming to the screening...

Posted

Could they be trying to trick us for a surprise?

Posted

I was thinking that, but at the same time it was known they'd be at SXSW & Newport, so why deny it this time if they really are?

Posted

I don't think it makes sense that they'd come to this, and I don't necessarily think those are actually hints that they will, but if I see any of them in the theater tomorrow I'm actually going to have a heart attack. I'm usually pretty chill about meeting 'celebrities' because they are just people in the end, but I'm more likely to panic when I don't know where they might pop out of at any time  Also, how would I be able to focus on the movie if I had to simultaneously be watching Billie's fluffy hair three rows in front of me? Problems. And I'd actually like to watch this attentively

Actually, I think those "Green Day are on the road but sadly not in NYC" just means that the producer/whoever runs the Broadway Idiot twitter account knew that Green Day was on tour this past month, and assumed that their tour is still going. They did just et home last week.

They were at the other 2 premieres. I think it's possible. That would be great though. Imagine sitting next to them. I'd be scared out of my mind thinking don't do anything stupid.

Ya but those were proper premieres, with press, all that. This is just a screening. They had a screening at a university in Indiana that they didn't attend. NYC is of course special, but... not getting my hopes up. Slash I'm too nervous to think about them being there
