Davis Weiss Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Ok my time to rant. I think it should be Sex Drugs and Violence. The only radio friendly song that really got airplay for the trilogy was Oh Love. Green Day needs to throw out another RADIO FRIENDLY single that is upbeat and would make a good summer radio song. The harmonies and sexy guitar solo make it perfect to be released as a single. Now on to the topic of DRB (some of you will hate this) I feel like DRB would not make a good single for them. It's a good song and I really like it but it's too long to be on the radio. It changes it's feel from half to double time and then to 6/8 even. I just feel like it wouldn't make a good single.
StuckWithInsomnia Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Definitely Brutal Love, Missing You is a nice song, but its a bit too simple I think, it could have worked nicely as a first single but not a fifth. 99 Revolutions is too boring, 8th Avenue Serenade doesn't have enough choruses, Walk Away is too repetitive. Brutal Love is kind of close to songs like 21 Guns, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September, which are some of Green Day's biggest hits, and Brutal Love has an awesome build up, which gives the song a nice bit of variety.
Sarcasm Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Whats with the lack of love for Walk Away? It's my third favorite from the whole trilogy you assholes
Mr Panda Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Missing You or Dirty Rotten Bastard beyond all doubts.
Sarcasm Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Why aren't Brutal Love or DRB in the poll? Who made this?I don't think that song is a radio song. It's more a nachspiel song.
Ritz Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Whats with the lack of love for Walk Away? It's my third favorite from the whole trilogy you assholes +1000000000000. Walk Away is amazing, with great melody!
Slave To The Network Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Brutal Love or 8th Avenue Serenade for sure!
Bastard of 1969 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I think that X-Kid is just heartbreaking, awesome pop punk song, which has really good meaning. I mean why do i have to go to the "others"? Why didn't you just put ALL the songs who we want to see it as a single. Not just few of them, althrtough i think those are one of the best from Tre.
tvrman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I wrote on GDA back when Tre was released that the best track for a single (note: not my favourite track) was Missing You. Glad to see so many people coming around to my way of thinking. By the way; are we talking European-only single to promote Tre!Cuatro! ?
Mr Panda Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Missing You or Dirty Rotten Bastard beyond all doubts.
purplesunshine Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Little boy named train! It's one of my favorite songs of all time (btw I think that 99 revolutions will be the next single)
porksoda Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I don't think it's horrible, but it is one of my least favourite songs on there, one of the least interesting. Definitely the least "Trilogy-like" song too, not a good song to represent the albums at all. As a single it'd just give the impression that they haven't moved on from AI and 21st CB. I overstated myself a little, but my actual opinion is more along the lines of what you just said. I don't get why they're putting so much behind that song, it's filler, and just about any other song is better and more interesting.
Dirty Bogdan Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I tried to make their own versions of covers for possible singles. What do you think about this?
Raven93 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 There won't be a another single ? Pretty sure they are just gonna move on from it
ANJI Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'd love to see 99 Revolution, Dirty Rotten Bastards or Missing You
JOE THE X-KID Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 i want 99 revolutions so more people will know it when they open with it...
Isabel Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I think they need another anthem type single like Jesus of Suburbia that people will remember for years to come. Ergo, it must be Dirty Rotten Bastards. It's clearly the way to go, absolute perfection. Can easily imagine it being played on the radio/Kerrang or whatever equivalent. Well, more so than any of the other songs on that album. Personally, and I know this is just my opinion, I think Dirty Rotten Bastards is one of the best songs they've ever written; it needs more air time.
IcyMoffatt Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I would love Dirty Rotten Bastards to be the next single. Unfortunately, the song is too long for most radio stations. So, if GD wants a new single, the band would probably choose 99 Revolutions just to somehow promote the tour of the same name.
legendary Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I tried to make their own versions of covers for possible singles. What do you think about this? Good job!!
