Todd Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I've got a cassette player too Am I cool yet? I don't like the idea of preserving stuff because it's rare and treating it like some sacred pizza, I would rather play that shit. No!!! It could get ruined! Why take that chance when someone's already ripped it and you can listen to it in beautiful FLAC?

Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 No!!! It could get ruined! Why take that chance when someone's already ripped it and you can listen to it in beautiful FLAC? Because vinyl sounds so much better. the vinyl is still in the original brown paper bag hahaha. it's been babied from the moment it were bought. i am not ruining it I would do the total opposite and just listen to that shit, but hey, you keep it nice and safe and perfect and whatever. What record is it, by the way?

What record is it, by the way? haha i'm mildly ocd about shit like that it's from Green Days first UK tour in 1991, my birth year, in my birth town, Newport (TJ's, a bar I used to visit a lot). so it's very special to me so those 2 reasons 500 were pressed in black, 100 in green. i got a green one in mint condition for £14
YORUGUA Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Does anyone still own a cassette player? If you were born in 1982 like me... HELL YEAH!
J&TheNight Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Yeah I sort of have to agree. While it's cool to promote these Ebay items, it kind of defeats the purpose for collectors if every fan knows it's on there. It makes it impossible for anyone to get a good deal. I, as well as others, would like to this section dropped from the site. I've lost out on a lot of auctions because they were posted on here then immediately skyrocket in price.

Todd Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 yeah, fuck the stupid poser fans who don't check ebay twice every day! they have no right to buy rare green day items! Yes!!!
J&TheNight Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 'fuck the stupid poser fans' I think it was sarcasm XD I don't check Ebay every day, but I do go on there now and again and browse around, as I'm sure a lot of fans do.

It's hard to get a good deal if everyone is after it. That's why I'd prefer for this section to leave because I do search eBay now and then and I can only afford ot bid on unnoticed sales that are at a decent price.

I understand where you're coming from. The fact is that I know others appreciate that we post cool stuff from time to time. I realize that drives the price up on these items. While that's not the goal, it is an unfortunate side-effect of highlighting anything in the news. Since we only do it about once a week, I don't think it's enough of a problem that I'd prefer not to have them at all. After all, even though some may be upset the price goes higher than it might otherwise go, another person is happy they got a chance to buy something they might not have otherwise seen.

So don't get all uptight over it.

That's fair enough. It's not a huge issue, it just get's frustrating now and again.
dangreenday Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 i dont wanna take any sides here, but both sides are right in there own way on the one hand being a collecor myself you dont want to attract attention to the RARE bids cause more people see it so the more chance you have of paying way too much But then again On the other hand - you may not have seen this item and someone is doing you a favour by sharing it .. But People who don't collect things will never understand how we can pay £200+ or more ($300+) for items and just keep them sealed or not use them, so lets not argue over it.. I for one NEVER open any of my collection and im so proud of it - ive been collecting for over 13 Years and ive got soooo Much stuff I love to chat with other fellow GD collectors and share items and auctions ect But as for this thread - IF your interested in the item thats posted in the Thread header . then post in here and talk about it But if your Not then just don't post in it all as it saves arguments ect ... mini rant over .. P.s - I love you all
