Todd Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 There's always b-sides . I dunno, I see what you mean but personally I'd rather hear songs than not hear them.I'd love to hear them, but I'm not gonna be the usual greedy me and want all of them (If we get all of them, I'm not gonna complain, but..)
raul.stanciu Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 "I believe he says "This next song...was when we recorded it" I believe he was telling everyone that the last time they played this song, was when they recorded it for Dookie. This tells me they have not played Sassafras Roots live, or ever, since they recorded it for Dookie. Amazing!! This is something I only dreamed that Green Day would do, and I thought it would never happen. This is awesome. I hope they come back to the USA and play Dookie, along with more pre-American Idiot songs." He said that Sassafras Roots hasn't been played since it was recorded (as far as I read it wasn't performed since 97, maybe he forgot that). Before they started playing it, Billie seemed anxious to play it , as he kinda forgot it. He had the lyric sheet at his feet and asked the guitar tech something and waved his hands as if he didn't remember the song. However, all went well.
Cath Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Lol but King For A Day > Insomniac! Don't hate me lol what? you prefer the song KFAD to the full album Insomniac? well that's what a call a unpopular opinion.
Tubbie Head Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 lol what? you prefer the song KFAD to the full album Insomniac? well that's what a call a unpopular opinion. Yeah, maybe not the song particularly, but the live version of it, including Shout and all that stuff that comes with it Insomniac is really not one of my favourite albums.
Hermione Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'd love to hear them, but I'm not gonna be the usual greedy me and want all of them (If we get all of them, I'm not gonna complain, but..) This is a pretty unlikely hypothetical situation anyway haha, I don't think the chances of them doing more albums any time soon are particularly high. Would be cool if they pulled an occasional one out at some point in the future though, that seems more likely and would suit you better! Yeah, maybe not the song particularity, but the live version of it, including Shout and all that stuff that comes with it Insomniac is really not one of my favourite albums. I'm with you
The Disappearing Boy Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 This is brilliant. I love how each song was played perfectly, they had clearly rehearsed this and it wasn't something they decided on last-minute. Hopefully they'll do it for more albums in the future.
Heather. Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'm so happy for Serbia, they've waited long enough for an epic show. I do think it's ironic though that it's Americans and UK and those of us who have seen Green Day perform many times who are the most jaded with the GD show and setlist and most starved to hear Dookie or any special set like that. Not that Serbia doesn't appreciate it as much as anyone, just that what with it being the first time most of those people are getting an opportunity to SEE Green Day, anything would have been new and exciting. It makes sense that GD wanted it to be a special first time show, and I'm sure the diehard fans there appreciated it, but I think the California crowd who sees them all the time would be the ones craving it the most. But we all want youtube footage equally
Carrot Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 tre has bad memory when it comes to songs. but hey, when it was that long ago, i'd probably forget too really wish mike used his gibson G3...
spark in the night Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 wow Sasafrass needs to be on the semi-regular setlist. Sounded so good live.
Ritz Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I still can't get over the fact that it actually happened.
LPbilliejr Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Now someone has to go to every tour date with a sign with "Fuck it play the whole fucking TRILOGY"
disappearing_boy_39 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Actually, Billie Joe played an acoustic rendition of Pulling Teeth on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour:
TheOneIWant Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I am beyond jealous right now. Dookie was my childhood musically. I know a lot of you have been posting comments about wanting them to play Insomniac in full next. Don't get your hopes up. They would have to relearn all of the songs they haven't played live in forever or ever just like they did with Dookie. It's too bad that they didn't have Tre do All By Myself as it would have meant that they truly played all of Dookie.
Letterbomb44 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 To anyone thats wondering if they recorded this. They have been recording this whole tour I think. Go look on live videos, you will see cameramen recording audio & video. I was at the la show and saw some crewmen with interesting lenses I wonder if they will do live album vid like how they shot basket case in cuatro

Letterbomb44 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 How? This show's already happened so the fun can't be taken out of this one. And although it wouldn't be as fun because it wouldn't be as much of a surprise, I think turning up at a show and hearing a whole album played live for the first time would still be pretty fun to say the least. This show will already go down in Green Day history as an epic show but if this turned into the tour where they played every album from front to back it would be absolutely legendary! They've said they want to play Kerplunk in full several times. But yeah, I agree it's unlikely they'd play them all during one tour. Well think about it they're really unpredictable I mean Jason white the fourth member? Billie rehab? The trilogy over another single record? Nightlife? Now dookie in full? They're crazy enought to play every song they cut from the trilogy we have heard shit they may decide to release all cigarette and valentines songs live I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy this ride
Cath Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 It's too bad that they didn't have Tre do All By Myself as it would have meant that they truly played all of Dookie. no. why are still people complaning when they just played full Dookie on stage?
Liam Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yeah they record nearly all their shows, unfortunately it's only rarely that we get to see the footage. Glad to know there's the possibility though, well spotted! Aren't the guys with cameras more for the big screen images at the show, and not so much for preserving the show for later? I'm pretty sure when they say "record every show" I'm pretty sure they mean audio, otherwise we'd see a lot more cameras around. Considering we only see one camera at one point, it leads me to believe they're recording a little bit of video for a tour update video.
Todd Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Actually, Billie Joe played an acoustic rendition of Pulling Teeth on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour:They played it at least twice that tour.
HARVESTER Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 A tour update video.... I hope they are having fun. What's up with keeping track of how many times they have played stuff? Isn't that a bit obsessive? Unless it is for collectors. are you all collectors? I just want them to play their music whether or not it has been played before. I do want something new though. It's fun to hear new things.
NoManCanEat50drumsticks Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Don't know if this has just been posted so...Emenius Sleepus and In the End! Aaaaand full Dookie parts! http://youtu.be/66WKA8uWXbc http://youtu.be/qE6gwRWNM0o http://youtu.be/aQBS7jvs_3M

Louisbelgium Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Maybe one day they will play Misery for the first time live? It could be really great!! They did a part of it during a sound check some years ago:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awyUYmQ1HiA
