Todd Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I suppose they could add the Shenanigans songs from that era, and take Brain Stew and Panic song out to 10 minutes each with hey-ohs We got our first live recording of Sassafras Roots, first Having a Blast since 93, first Chump since 98, First full-band Pulling Teeth, first Emenius Sleepus, and first In The End, but I still wish they threw in On The Wagon and Tired of Waiting For You
HolyHandGrenade Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 i agree. take out Brain Stew, St Jimmy, King For A Day,etc. but Panic Song out? kiutyujjilduasoduaslfinasufi no way. No, I didn't mean remove it, I meant increase the length of those two to 10 minutes each. Panic Song is my favorite from Insomniac
Cath Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 No, I didn't mean remove it, I meant increase the length of those two to 10 minutes each. Panic Song is my favorite from Insomniac sorry then. but imagine Panic Song live .. and like opener. holy shit.
Slave To The Network Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 It's just so cool that they did this! How amazing for the people who were there to see it! I wonder it they'll do it again sometime soon.
Guest Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I have always wanted to see In the End live, now I have. Thank you to those that provided us with videos.
Todd Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I hope they don't do this with every album. That would take the fun out of it
Hermione Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 To anyone thats wondering if they recorded this. They have been recording this whole tour I think. Go look on live videos, you will see cameramen recording audio & video.Yeah they record nearly all their shows, unfortunately it's only rarely that we get to see the footage. Glad to know there's the possibility though, well spotted!
Cath Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I hope they don't do this with every album. That would take the fun out of it i doubt they will any soon. Mike and Billie talked few times about the idea of playing full Dookie one day. never heard about others albums. Keplunk too. (edit)
Hermione Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I hope they don't do this with every album. That would take the fun out of it How? This show's already happened so the fun can't be taken out of this one. And although it wouldn't be as fun because it wouldn't be as much of a surprise, I think turning up at a show and hearing a whole album played live for the first time would still be pretty fun to say the least. This show will already go down in Green Day history as an epic show but if this turned into the tour where they played every album from front to back it would be absolutely legendary! i doubt they will any soon. Mike and Billie talked few times about the idea of playing full Dookie one day. never heard about others albums. They've said they want to play Kerplunk in full several times. But yeah, I agree it's unlikely they'd play them all during one tour.
Cath Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 They've said they want to play Kerplunk in full several times. But yeah, I agree it's unlikely they'd play them all. seriously? didn't know about it. well thanks for letting me know and sorry for the wrong info. i still prefer Dookie to Kerplunk but why not that would be great.

ColinOr Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I didn't see All By Myself on the set-list. Ashame they missed that out, it would have been great after FOD.
Sir Psycho Sexy Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Aren't the guys with cameras more for the big screen images at the show, and not so much for preserving the show for later? They don't have big screens on this tour.
Todd Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Aren't the guys with cameras more for the big screen images at the show, and not so much for preserving the show for later? They don't have the big screen at these recent shows, they haven't played any venues large enough to require that I'm pretty sureHow? Plus they have played AI and 21st CB in full more than once. But yeah, I agree it's unlikely they'd play them all during one tour.Sassafras Roots is great! They finally played it. Everyone was the same way when they brought back Burnout, but now they play it every show and it's not special. These are rare songs. If they start playing them left and right, that'd be great, but it would lose the awesome excitement that we have now
Hermione Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Aren't the guys with cameras more for the big screen images at the show, and not so much for preserving the show for later? I think it depends. Some of it's for stuff like that and just to have live clips in case they need some for promo or whatever, as well as to have whole shows and songs recorded for possible release on their youtube channel or on TV or on a DVD etc. In the Idiot Club chat with Bill Schneider and Chris Dugan a couple of years ago they were saying they like to have stuff filmed just in case they want to do something with it. But some of the time I think it's just for their own amusement. They filmed the Foxboro show I was at and when I met Kevin Preston a year later he said they'd watched the whole thing and it was hilarious, the bastards . I'm sure they'd want to have the show they played Dookie in full on film just so they can watch it if they want and so the special event is documented whether they had any intention of ever putting out any footage from it or not.
Guest Trotsky Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 excuse me while I cry over pulling teeth k thanks One of my favorite songs ever!!
Alan86 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 In The End is awesome live, as is Having a Blast. So glad they changed up the usual setlist.
San Miguel Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 In The End is awesome live, as is Having a Blast. So glad they changed up the usual setlist. Here's hoping they will really mix things up for the Emirates gig on Saturday because of this. I vote for them playing 39 Smooth and then Tre from front to back to give us their first and latest albums

If they start playing them left and right, that'd be great, but it would lose the awesome excitement that we have now If they just played each album in full once then all the songs would remain rare. Seeing each unplayed/rarely played one would be really exciting and then if they went back to their regular setlist that would be it and they'd still be super rare. seriously? didn't know about it. well thanks for letting me know and sorry for the wrong info. i still prefer Dookie to Kerplunk but why not that would be great. Yeah, although I think the first time it was mentioned was on that Times Talk interview Billie did in 2005 so we might have a long wait

Seeing each unplayed/rarely played one would be really exciting and then if they went back to their regular setlist that would be it and they'd still be super rare.Yeah, but then there's nothing to hope for, there's nothing on the "other side" that we still haven't heard
Hermione Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah, but then there's nothing to hope for, there's nothing on the "other side" that we still haven't heard There's always b-sides . I dunno, I see what you mean but personally I'd rather hear songs than not hear them.
Tubbie Head Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 They could probably cut King For A Day from the setlist and play Insomniac instead. Lol but King For A Day > Insomniac! Don't hate me I'd love to see them playing Kerplunk all the way through, or Warning (that's probably more realistic). But it's so cool that they did this for this show! I'm so happy for the lucky people who got to experience it!
