HolyHandGrenade Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Did he fuck up the words to Pulling Teeth? Oh Billie. How cute he is. Sassafras Roots and Pulling Teeth in one show. Oh, I'd die. Artistic liberties were taken - he was freestyling
ChrisC1997 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39UrgVX-MYU IN THE END!!!! Finally found. Nice and fast like it should be ...I can't stop watching this, the energy in this song live is unreal
Darren Shepherd Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Perhaps playing Dookie is the plan for all the festival shows this Summer...? When Mike was interviewed on BBC Radio 1 after it was announced they were playing Reading/Leeds, he dropped some comment about 'I guess we had to play Dookie in full sometime'. At the time I thought he was referring to their 'surprise' Reading 2012 set (where it was rumoured they'd play Dookie) but maybe it was a clue for 2013. Would be amazing if the London gig this weekend was the regular 99 Revolutions set, then get to hear Dookie at Leeds in August.

ChrisC1997 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 If anyone finds a video or even and audio recording of Chump or "Emenius Sleepus" live from the show that just happened, please post it here. Anyway, my opinion on them playing this the whole way through, is that I think this is a good thing. It's a nice surprise for those who have a hard on for Dookie (Like me) and also a really good way for people who have never heard those songs before to give them reason to look back on past records. Also, they look really happy playing those songs they haven't played in god knows how long, the look on Billie's face at the end of the video of "In The End"
musso_kn Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Well. This is a good sign. Let's see what they do next.
Liam Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Personally, I would have liked to have seen this happen at the secret show a few days ago.
HolyHandGrenade Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Personally, I would have liked to have seen this happen at the secret show a few days ago. The set lists were still pretty good in all the Italy shows, I feel like each one fed off the next until they decided to go for it.
Saint of Suburbia Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 been grinning like an idiot all day... I mean HAVING A BLAST!!!! Wow that's awesome
JOE THE X-KID Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Hopefully since they did this they will start playing more trilogy stuff, so amazing though cant believe it
Femme Gauche Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Damn, boys. I guess you've still got it. Not that this was in doubt, of course.
ChrisC1997 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Was this instead of the regular tour setlist or as well as? Yes, they played 15 other songs The setlist is there http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2013/kalemegdan-park-belgrade-serbia-1bd9a128.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejEAkosyBu4 Video of Burnout, nothing to special but the reaction given when he says "We're gonna play Dookie" is mental, and the aggression in his voice when he says "Burnout"
raul.stanciu Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Haha! I am so glad I went to this show. It was funny to see most of the teenagers being unaware of Dookie's album tracks. Amazing show, they are a top notch live band.
St. Christian Of Suburbia Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 "This was the first time that Green Day has played any of their albums, other than American Idiot, from front to back." They played 21st Century Breakdown completely early on during its promotion, didn't they? In fact, the audio from that show was recently a download of the week, if I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah, at the Fox Theater.
Daddy. Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I think there's one more gig between Green Day and the Emirates show, but imagine if they played Insomniac for the next European gig. That means they would play Nimrod at the Emirates.

I was think that as well. Surely if they made it a DOTW, they'd acknowledge that 21st CB was played right through I think there's one more gig between Green Day and the Emirates show, but imagine if they played Insomniac for the next European gig. That means they would play Nimrod at the Emirates. As good as that would be, I don't think those albums will get played in full anytime soon, maybe on their 20 year anniversary at a secret show or something, but those 2 albums haven't been as big for them as Dookie

Nimrod is a favourite of mine ;-) I'm just dying to see what Green Day have up their sleeves for the ONLY UK date on the tour that's not part of a festival! Gotta be huge right?
localinsomniac Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I saw this thread title and my pants just got a whole lot tighter, boy
Ryan And The Ave. Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Does anyone think that they may of played Dookie in full seeing as it was their first ever show in Serbia? I can imagine Billie telling the crowd they've got "a lot of catching up to do" or something along those lines. This could be nothing, but it's my theory!
Sir Psycho Sexy Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Was this instead of the regular tour setlist or as well as? They first put one setlist, probably with regular songs then 5 minutes before the show one guy changed all setlist papers. Does anyone think that they may of played Dookie in full seeing as it was their first ever show in Serbia? I can imagine Billie telling the crowd they've got "a lot of catching up to do" or something along those lines. This could be nothing, but it's my theory! Intersting, I think Billie never said anything about first time being here.
28smooth Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Makes me even more excited for the Emirates gig! TBH Prague got quite a special setlist a few years back so maybe it's just something about Europe and places they don't get to play that often.....
