NaughtyHellGod Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I woud love them to make an album just like Warning.
Todd Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 More punk sound to it, more serious lyrics, some collaborations with actually known artists that is not a garbage rap song, and released by 2016 or earlier. Hopefully they got every thing together now and after all this time off and the tour ending. They can go back in the studio Taking their time on the album would help out ALOT. In the trilogy they just jammed out songs right away and released them. Using a ton of their time wisely to make another hit song in the album or to increase sales to make them a very popular band again Dude, they worked on the trilogy since 2009. They didn't just "jam it out" in the studio. They worked on the trilogy songs throughout the 2009/2010 tour during soundchecks, after shows, during break times. They wrote all of Insomniac within a year, all of Nimrod was pretty much written in a year. It's fair that they spent 3 years on the trilogy.

It's telling that they took 3 years to write it and so much of it ended up being so poor.
Todd Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 It's telling that they took 3 years to write it and so much of it ended up being so poor. Yeah, but there's 37 songs total. If you look at each album individually, it doesn't sound as bad as you put it
Guest Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah, but there's 37 songs total. If you look at each album individually, it doesn't sound as bad as you put it Yeah but it's not like the flaws in the majority of the songs aren't very easily rectifiable. A few guitar tone changes, delete the tambourine tracks, rework some of the choruses, BOOM, the Trilogy is actually useable. There's no good reason for the albums to feel as rushed as they do.

The actual recording was rushed well as oppose to the past two albums
Guest Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The actual recording was rushed well as oppose to the past two albums I suppose, but you have to remember that most of the songs they wrote for the Trilogy are much simpler than the ones for AI and 21stCB. They wouldn't need as much work to get down.

Guest Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 AI with the exception of a very few tracks was not that much complex as 21st was... Was it not more layered though? The guitar tracks certainly sound it.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah, but there's 37 songs total. If you look at each album individually, it doesn't sound as bad as you put it For everyone that doesn't like a particular song from the trilogy someone else likes that particular song. Some people say Uno is their favourite others say it sucks and so on.
Annie, get your gun Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 An album with more songs like Lazy Bones, Wild One, Stray Heart and Amy... they happen to be all from ¡DOS! Okay, more ¡DOS! and less Nightlife would be great for me!
WhiteTim Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Was it not more layered though? The guitar tracks certainly sound it. That's cause the guitars weren't using clean tones as the trilogy... I'd say they are equal or if AI had more than it wasn't that much more
Asa. Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 And they need to have cool guest appearances, from someone like Dave Grohl or something! This! If Billie and Dave dueted on a song...there's no way something like that couldn't be good.
Clean Cut Asshole Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 This! If Billie and Dave dueted on a song...there's no way something like that couldn't be good. Totally! It would be so awesome, 'cuz basically everything Dave touches is gold.

I don't think the albums have a rushed feel to them ; They were written and recorded how the band intended them to sound. I have heard people say they are not keen on some of the songs in the trilogy... maybe they think they are very different from what they expect from green day? Music, like art appeals to different people for different reasons; I am sure individuals take different meanings from songs , some taking more pleasure from songs which have a familiar sound or beat.. I am glad Green Day have tried different styles and stories for the songs they write because if they continued to produce similar albums, what would be the point in listening to them? I hope the next album brings happy times for the band and surprises for the fans!
Clockwise Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I'd just like for them to keep moving forward and to do what they want, like they have been. I'll enjoy all of it, I'm sure.
Idiotic Tendency... Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 For it not to be shit like the trilogy
Wow! That's Loud Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Hope it sounds like every single Green Day album combined!

On the contrary, the Trilogy is exactly what people expect from Green Day, only this time it was executed exceptionally poorly. It's the trademark Green Day pop punk, with a hint of the stadium rock of their past two albums, only it's just not up to Green Day's high standards. The guitar tone is weak, the lyricwriting is undeniably lazy, and there are so many copied and rehashed riffs it makes Kid Rock's All Summer Long look like the most innovative and fresh song out there. Even little things, like the tempo changes on DRB sound forced. There's none of the natural flow that was a trademark of their previous albums. I fully agree with you, if Green Day keep doing the same thing over and over, they're in trouble. But that's the problem with the Trilogy. It's more of exactly the same, except dressed up to be something new and clever.

Yepp I mean look at Homecoming which is much more complex than DRB in my opinion but it sounds so natural and unique and it just flows like it's in a different dimension where as DRB is sort of chopped and screwed and I hate the way it just fly's right into the ending verse with "We're Carried Away". That ending verse really does take something away form it, it's like a bad crash landing but even still...I honestly can't help but like DRB and the trilogy itself. It's the weakest link by far but I love it anyways
jacknovella Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I actually hope there's no collaborations with other musicians. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer them just doing their own thing instead of having other people contribute. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people work on an album, not just the band, but I want to hear 100% Green Day.
xXRustyJamesXx Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 In my opinion collaborations are awesome! (If they are done with good musicians) 2 of 14 songs on the new album collab with the Foos or U2? Sounds awesome but I think they won't do anything like that
Guest Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 If Green Day did another collab with U2 I'd probably completely give up on them.
Oxymore Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 All differents songs relative to each other. What I didn't like with the trilogy is that many of them looked alike. Dark songs beside light songs, serious lyrics (we all expect it I think...), a solo with Tré (total paradoxe with ''serious lyrics'' but don't mind ), and definitively, NO choir. No colaboration with other musicians, just Green Day.
