Feedback on updated GDA design

I agree. This is my main problem with the new design. It's just too tiny and it needs a bigger, more bold/wider font. And the page that you're on should be shown in a different way.

Simple is better somtimes, and I really like how the new design looks.

I think it's looking great but, I agree, trilogy colours needed! That might be a little challenging to incorporate in order for it to look neat and not too funky but you guys can make it!

The menu letters should be bigger too.

The current one looks messy and I hate all the advertisements... They are all over the place instead of in one spot, breaking up the information that is on it so that when I read it it looks like it is nothing but advertisements except for the news section which is split up by an advertisement...

The picture shows that there is a search bar on it so it does not need a search button.

I don't see any advertisements in the current one! Thank god for Adblock!

The only thing I would change is the "News-tour-merch-etc"-bar at the top. Make it a little more flashy, and add some more tabs. I like how it's so easy to find music, articles and stuff like that without having to go too deep into a specific tab/folder.

Thank you guys for the feedback. Most comments have been centered around the change in the nav bar. I'll keep working on it. We're definitely not done with it yet, though it is close. Obviously there are no ads, but the final version will have them. Unfortunate reality that in order to keep a site like ours online we needs ads, and they aren't pretty. They will pretty much be just like the ads on the current design.

I think it would be cool if the color scheme and banner changed depending on the theme and colors of their newest album. I don't know how difficult that would be, but then you wouldn't have to update the look of it for a few years at a time.

We haven't updated a design to go along strictly with their album artwork in 9 years. I update when I have the time, and i don't want a site that just looks like a rip off of album artwork. For now link colors are about the only thing throwing back to the current album artworks (hence the three different link colors). While I think there are some amazing trilogy inspired designs, like Green Day Eulogy, it's not something I want to do with GDA.

Regarding the band section, you may want to move Jason White in with the other three and then take Bill and Butch out of the "Other Crew" section as they don't work with Green Day anymore.

There's a few things that do need to be updated on GDA but trust me, we are working on it

I like it, a few things to feedback (to hopefully help you out!):

• A more drastic change of colour between the news stories and the background (which also seems to affect the colour of the line between the stories?), at the moment they blend too easily and when I had a little bit of natural light on my monitor I couldn't see any difference at all.
• The navigation: I do like the 2 navbar idea on the current one. I don't know if you're able to do this, but maybe have a second bar that pops down when you click on a link? With that, it pushes everything else down with it (or maybe an overlay?), should be possible with some JScript.
• I would keep the social network links in a similar area, so that people can see them straight away and subscribe to them should they feel inclined.
• What Lauren said about the calendar, I like that.

It does look nice, a good evolution for the site
