Awesome post @IcyMoffatt

The world is a better place simply because Billie Joe is in it. 🙂

Why are they all being extra sweet and affectionate with each other on this tour? It's so adorable I can't take it

Fangirl fantasy confession: Angry (sweaty) Billie dropkicking a nazi :fight:

Exactly! And why anyone would want to try to shut that down and make him "stick to music" is beyond me.

Being passionate about politics and human rights is a part of who he is and it's a part of the music he writes.  You simply can't have one without the other and I appreciate and respect that so much!

And I second your fangirl fantasy: angry  (and most especially sweaty!) Billie dropkicking a nazi would be incredible!!  :runaround::wub:

Three short confessions:

1. Billie's eyeliner has been on point lately.

2. Just revisited a few (hundred) pages of this thread. "Serious unbuttoning" should have an entry in the dictionary.

3. When I joined the forum, I could not imagine saying this, but there is no better place in here than this thread.

I was at the Cincinnati show, and it really hit me that Billie is completely different than he was during the AI tour. That's when I last saw them live. The increase now in his energy, enthusiasm, joy, playfulness,  and affection for the fans is just amazing. It's almost hard to believe it's the same frontman. I think Billie is doing very well. I wouldn't worry about drinking or anything else. He is in top physical and mental status. And the band is on fire and seem closer than ever.

When I look at AI era Billie and RevRad - current Billie, I often sum up by saying : the first one I just want to hold so strong in my arms, the second one I want to be hold so strong in his arms.

I had never seen Billie in real earlier than 2017, but the difference is clear from the videos of AI era. I don't find the change hard to believe, though; the boy grew up in a very exemplary way, it's a stellar change and full of hope for people watching him and still too unstable to be happy, such as me. I felt the same as you when seeing him. I was blown away by his joy, his human warmth. He was so radiant I had to make some effort to look at him, it was really the definition of "too happy to be true". That sensation was so strong I can't really be worried for him now, no matter what.

I've just rewatched this vid. It's so strange, this wasn't even a year ago but Billie looks so different. Crazy to think what changing their clothes and haircut does to people.

I love this vid

Regarding Billie's hair and the fact that some people are wanting it shorter again. I felt that way but changed my mind after my show Sunday. His longer, wild, curly, sweaty hair looked so hot, especially on the screens.

That's probably one of the greatest changes of mind you'll ever make :ga:

What a wonderful way of putting it! I also felt the same seeing him this year, he's always been amazing on stage but he's on another level now.

@herewegoagain - I found a picture of that shirt Billie was wearing at the Hall of Fame. Pretty styling. (and he had the baby Billie badge on too!)

Niiiice. I love it - and his awkward pose :D

Rock and roll can change the world! Everything you said is spot on, and yes you deserve a hug for that omg

Same  At first this thread caught my attention but I was like "nah I should try to contribute more elsewhere" but I always end up back here  :friends::wub:

I just laughed so hard when I read this review of their Cleveland show: "Billie Joe Armstrong is an energetic, if not spastic front man." Yeah, that's why we love him so much. :lol:http://neomusicscene.com/rock-n-roll-party-green-day-comes-around/

When "energetic" doesn't quite cover it, call the man a spaz. 😂 Yeah, but he's our spaz.

I agree with what everyone is saying here about his newfound energy and stage presence. He always had charisma and was a magnetic performer but combine that with where he is in his life right now and it's impossible to contain. I love the increased love and affection towards both the band and the audience. The love goes all around, there's no separation, that's how it feels at the show. It's not them playing and us watching, it's not even them and us, it's just us. It's a joy everyone feels he's just radiating it.

If Billie Joe was in the same room with all of us right now, I think we would do a group hug with him. :hug:We are saying too much beautiful things about him.

Thank goodness for this thread, we don't feel along basking in his awesomeness!  Billie is so beautiful just now.

I will be honest, back in high school (mostly my first two years), I was affraid of him. More exactly, I loved Green Day, but I didn't understand why and Billie Joe seemed like everything I wanted to hate in a guy. But I still continued to listen to GD and I decided to find out more about the band. Never judge a book by its cover! The more I discovered Billie, his story and background, the more I understand him and felt connected to him. It was like «Wow! Finally someone who has the same opinions as me and he isn't affraid to say them out loud!» He maybe had an ugly side (smoker, alcoholic, drugs problems, unrespectful attitude, ...), but, in the end, he has a big beautiful personality that was hiding. He has a big heart no matter what. Billie Joe is my hero. I hope he never stops to do his speeches! He can make the world a better place.

Omg, I used to feel exactly the same way! I thought I was the only one. I wasn't exactly afraid of him, but he was just presented by other people as an asshole sometimes, so I didn't think he was worth my time. I was too closed-minded and judgmental to look past what the media/other people said about him and get to know the real him. Then, just over a year ago, I decided to give Green Day a chance. I watched their interviews on Youtube, I learned about the history of the band and it made me realise that they really are amazing people. Sometimes, I feel so guilty for judging Billie like that. :sorry:

:hug:Don't feel guilty for judging Billie. Nobody is perfect. We learn from our mistakes and it's alright to be wrong sometimes.

The best things about this thread are that everybody here is on the same wavelength as each other and there's no bitchiness or criticism of each other's posts like there is in other threads.

Oh and GD are on point in this picture

We can more then hug with Bj...If you know what I mean!😉 and I always thought he very charming and power to bring house down with his performing and making epic speech on stage from 90s until now..but off stage he seem to be totally different  quiet and lay back kind of  person you don't know what he is going do next!
