I'm really sad that everybody had such high expectations for this song. Seriously the group used to sing about fucking each others mom, being on a boat, and throwing random shit on the ground. It's not like they're Lennon and McCartney and we were going to get some masterpiece song. No. It was supposed to be straight comedy on a song that shouldn't be taken that seriously.

The song seemed very weird to me after the first listen but now I love it! It's interesting to hear Billie sing in a different way than he usually sings.

First off, I found the song to be hilarious. Especially the part about fighting rats in the sewers. Great satire of all those artists that say they "run" their home cities.

Also, Billie's voice sounds great and his part actually has a pretty good melody. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nope. It's terrible even by rap standards. I haven't really been following this, but out of nothing more than curiosity and good comments, I decided to give this song a listen. Nightlife is actually pretty good in comparison to this. But I quite like Nightlife anyway.

EDIT: I also think Billie Joe sounded crap.
