Would you vote if there was a "Trilogy as a whole" option versus including 21CB?

This, please?

Must say that I love 21st Century Breakdown, it's a great record when you listen to it front to back. Some of the tracks aren't ones I go to for a listen on their own but they fit in the overall picture.

¡Uno! is my least favourite album of those 4. It has a very few tracks I'd chose to listen to stand alone (Kill the DJ and Let Yourself Go being the main ones) but the rest of it is fairly throw away to me.

¡Dos! is my favourite. When Green Day play Rock 'n' Roll, they play it well. That solo in Fuck Time is great, Wild One just drives on and on. I just love it, it speaks well to me.

¡Tre! is also one of my loves, it's a little lost in itself at times though (Sex, Drugs and Violence is a little crap, Walk Away could be stronger), but generally one I enjoy listening to.

I did vote

Breakdown is the best work ever done by Green Day. Maybe the record itself doesn't sound as good like American Idiot, but, if you look and hear closely, you find a lot work behind. Lyrics, riffs, an unbeatable atmosphere. And live is just awesome (:

Also, the best tour ever too came with this record too. Nothing more to say (:

I really love ¡Tré! a lot, so that's what I chose. But they're all fantastic.

It's all a bit crap.!!

MUAHAHAHA :fuckyou:

I don't know whether to take this seriously or not. And this is a big fuck you to me because...?

You should've made an option for the whole Trilogy, not just one-on-one. Anyways my vote is for the whole trilogy. I like it how it has different sounds, but 21 CB is damn good too.

My appreciation for 21st Century Breakdown has grown immensely since from when the first album came out. But oddly enough, I never think to myself "Oh man I really want to listen to 21stCB today" which is an attitude I have with the other albums, especially the Trilogy (which I listen to almost every day).

This. I love all three albums and I think they're all excellent (not perfect, but definitely excellent). Together they're even better.

Same, I don't usually consciously play a 21CB, song, but when it comes on I enjoy it.

I'm on it guys, give me a second...

I voted I love them all equally 'cause I already gave my entire heart to American Idiot  And although I love the Trilogy more than 21st Century Breakdown, it's still hard to pick just one... probably TRÉ because you know :ga:

I disagree with the last one being an option :tired:

I'm sorry, but we have some fussy GDCers

Yesterday I was obsessed with Viva La Gloria! It was great.

Now that I have the option I'm not going to change my vote  I don't like choosing between children.

21 CB is my favorite of ALL Green Day albums.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, to me the Trilogy counts as one album! But I'm still gonna love it all :D The Trilogy might be my favourite GD work... But 21st CBD means a lot more to me, it was the first GD album I witnessed coming out, as a fan... And I listened to it so many times! I haven't listened to the trilogy that much... Not because I don't love it but because I'm not as obsessed of a fan as I was a few years ago.

You would create such a difficult poll to answer. :) I only say that as I love both records so very very much, & I have invested a tremendous amount of time in both, regarding the atmosphere they convey, the intricate production methods & the mission behind them. 21st was a huge release for me, as AI was monumental in my development in youth & 21st was that 5 year wait I had anticipated catapulting myself into young adulthood. (I know this all sounds very heavy, but this band's a third parent to myself.) However that feeling I extract from the trilogy is one I feel is going to age in quite a timeless way, & one I really feel was a great choice to pursue @ this point in the BANDS life. Don't get me wrong, I feel 21st will age very well, but I feel it'll age more akin to a Beatles Sgt. Pepper type, a beautiful snapshot of an era of music & social commentary, where as the trilogy will be more of a Nirvana Nevermind type album, a great record which sounds like it could of been recorded & released today, & still sounds pertinent to the present. Where I am going with all this is I love them both in a HUGE way, & opinion & reception outside of that is unimportant, likely as it is for you & most other fans. So to answer your question, as well as spill my love & guts for this BAND, I would say I love them both equally...... with the added contradiction that I love each new record they release more than the last! :) Except Warning, I owe that album my life. PS. I love some of the things you post, so i'd like to ask you a question. What is your opinion regarding Nuclear Family? Everything from composition, production, social commentary, lyrically, technicality regrading the BANDS instrumental ability & so on & so forth.

You've been a fan since Dookie (right?) and your favourite Green Day album is 21st Century Breakdown?

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you a rather rare specimen...

I'm flattered, thank you!

I think Nuclear Family is an excellent opener and probably the best song off iUNO!. It is the closest example on the record that actually does emulate the Dookie sound the band said they were going for. The guitar riff is simple, and makes the song. Lyrically, I'm personally quite surprised not many people have really picked up on the social commentary element. It isn't spectacularly clear, but I love the line "like a Chinese drama and conspiracy it's the death of the nuclear family" and it could have been developed further.
