Alan86 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I've never heard of Jingletown being owned by Green Day It's like a fortress. That was my first impression as I approached JingleTown Recording Studio on this dead-end street in Oakland, California. A deceptively dilapidated building surrounded by high walls obscured by vegetation and overgrowth, and a security gate scarcely revealing the parking lot full of vintage cars and motorcycles, amid a working-class residential neighborhood, I was sure I was in the wrong place, or, at the very least, a big-ass rottweiler was coming around the corner eager to turn me into lunch. Owned by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool of the band Green Day, and operated primarily by Grammy Award-winning audio engineer Chris Dugan This taken from this article http://www.huffingtonpost.com/melissa-webster/chris-dugan-jingletown_b_2537407.html
LazyPhil Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 This taken from this article http://www.huffingtonpost.com/melissa-webster/chris-dugan-jingletown_b_2537407.html Jingletown is Green Day's studio. They renamed it to "Jingletown" after they bought it. The guys themselves wouldn't have to pay to use it but other projects definitely would have to. Anyways I'm perfectly fine with the current versions of the Trilogy. The production is a little off in some points but for the most part it's pretty strong. It's likely that he's just going through the masters and messing with other guitar tracks that were recorded but buried in the mixing/mastering. Oh wow, thx for saving me from ignorance
Moriarty Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 bj_unoxx - #jingletown #staythenight #99revolutions #missingyou #strayheart #reallyloudguitars He's up to something, that's for sure.
jacknovella Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 Holy shit...new photo from the studio! http://instagram.com/p/YtSmbUJFSD/ REALLY LOUD GUITARS?!
Cob Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 My guess is that any remixed songs might be re-released as singles for when they hit the road again. Either that or he's just fucking around in the studio, which is more likely.

Schlappy Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 ruh, ruh, ruh, REMIX! this is highly intriguing, especially considering that i think all of the songs he mentioned could use a bit of a boost
Fuzz Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 One of the few criticisms people had about the trilogy that I agreed with was that they were missing that Green Day "umph" when it came to the guitars.
HolyHandGrenade Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'm ridiculously excited about this. We don't have much to get excited about right now No news, no nuthin' Moar Green Day!
Sarcasm Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'm hoping they remix and re-record some of the songs to be the way they want them to sound live and give that out as a B-side download, that would be grand.
She is Amanda Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'd love to hear a more natural version of Amanda. It was a great song that was ruined by its production
Todd Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'd love to hear a more natural version of Amanda. It was a great song that was ruined by its production Yes! And with the Red 7 intro too!
Liam Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'm quite curious to know exactly how much they remixing and if/how they are planning to release this. I'm quite excited for this.
LPbilliejr Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Seriously stop posting dookiefied shit (it's insulting tbh and not good). Running zero tone on a Jb pup with a muddy amp was dookie, leave it alone. I don't mean to be all rant-like, but when billie's fucking around in the studio, he's not taking blue and running it through his PETE amp. He uses P90 equipped guitars, juniors, specials, customs, es, Gretsch, etc. The most out of this we will see will be him reinventing and tweaking his Marshall tone, Vox cleans, and his live sound (which saying that this album was produced too much is dumb in it of itself, because very little was...compare to AI and 21cb). And maybe we will get him to use his voice in a different way like he did for earlier albums, or something new.
NowhereBound Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I'm getting way too excited for this. I feel like I'm going to be so disappointed if he really is only messing around.
Gwen Stacy Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Don't get me wrong, I always think more Green Day is a good thing, but I'm not sure about any remixes to the trilogy. If they were planning on releasing this (if they weren't I'd doubt they'd have a crew in the actual studio) than I'd really hope for some radical differences. I don't want something like a "Director's Cut" where there's only 2 more minutes of extra footage. If they're going to bother to make changes, make it worth the time.

Cob Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I know I'm in the minority when I say that I'm perfectly fine with the way the guitars are mixed on the final albums. If they want to thicken the sound of the songs (when they're really not that thin at all) there's a lot more to it than just turning the volume up on the guitar. Decompressing the vocals and re-balancing the drum/bass mixes would be a great start.
JIGD13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 It's seems that his mixing Missing You, hope he will show us the song sometime
alienlifeform Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 i'd bet on a new album... with some songs remixed and some b-sides
DTH Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 so excited i always said those songs are great but would sound 100 times better with a productiion like insomniac. i would never have hoped they would actually go in a similiar direction. dont get me wrong: we dont know yet how itll end up,but anything is better than the rhythm guitar sound on the trilogy. the solo guitar sound is great though btw... hope theyll do sex, drugs and violence, too.
Carrot Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 if you think about it, every album has had that same quitar sound. warning had that sound just a bit. the trilogy seems to lack that. i like the way it is now, but i think dookie/insomniac guitars would be amazing on the trilogy.
