Jimmy Strummer Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 If I can make a suggestion of a new band that deserves some airplay, I would say, "Dinosaur Pile Up" and their first album, "Growing Pains." They are kind of a power pop/alternative band from England. Their second album comes out in a matter of months and I really think these guys deserve it. Anyways, good luck with the show! It sounds like you're doing a good job! Thanks so much!!! I wish I could work Dinosaur Pile Up into the second hour mix for one of these shows, but the mix for this week is already set, and since next week is the series finale, the mix is gonna be kind of a retrospective of the show. What I can do is pass them along to the station's music director and see if he'll get their songs on the air!! Did you listen in on Friday night? What did you think? That goes for the rest of you who listened in!! Gimme feedback, dammit!!!
The Governator Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Thanks so much!!! That goes for the rest of you who listened in!! Gimme feedback, dammit!!! I think what your doing is really great. In this generation of going online and downloading a couple of songs, we need to listen to your show. I used to be a one or two song downloader, but it's things like your show that help me discover that some songs sound even better as a whole album! The way certain songs complement each other and flow as one piece of music is really something. An album like American Idiot is great because the album tells a story. A band like Tool or Oceansize wouldn't work if you just went online and downloaded a few songs. You may even enjoy a band more after hearing their full album. Anyways, thanks for helping keep rock and roll alive. Maybe someday my band may end up on your show!
HolyHandGrenade Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 You did a good job of explaining Fuck Time Are you going to talk about BJ's rehab at all? Dos would be the time to do it, like with Lazy Bones
Jimmy Strummer Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Hey everyone!! Sorry I haven't been on that much!! My laptop died and needed to be taken to the Apple Store for repairs. I'm back now, so let me answer some questions and replies that were left when I was gone. Listening right now! You said "really" a lot LOL I know, should I switch to "y'know?" Are you going to talk about BJ's rehab at all? Dos would be the time to do it, like with Lazy Bones I wanna try to avoid it as much as I can, since it's an incident that I think the band and fanbase really wanna try to steer clear of from now on. Like, it happened, he's better, let's move forward, y'know? But it wouldn't be a bad thing to just kind of address. I mean, I can't avoid talking about it, it really did affect the success of the trilogy. I might bring it up next week.
