angry_robot Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 That sounds absolutely horrible I get tired when I have to drive 500km so respect for that! Yeah, it was horrible Considering that before the whole thing I had to go to Moscow 2 times to get visa for that trip (it's 500 km from my city), overall I went almost 4500 km to see Green Day. And I don't regret anything
Backyard Skulls Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 4 hours to Glasgow in 2009 and this summer it'll be an 1hr30 mins by plane to London. Either that or a 12 hour bus journey
TimmyChunks Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Wow, you guys are amazing. I knew that some fans traveled a great deal to see these guys, but some of you go to mindblowing lengths...I honestly don't think Green Day fans get enough credit. I've heard plenty about passionate Phish and Pearl Jam fans traveling extensively to watch those bands, but I don't think Green Day fans have the same reputation among the general population. You guys prove that Green Day fans are as loyal and passionate as any other fanbase out there. I love it.
Rianne Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 All across Europe when I lived in Holland. And an 1100 mile drive from Denver to Chicago.
Red Lights Flash Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Flew to Italy (Bologna) last year, from Belgium. Sadly, it got cancelled like one hour in advance.
lizziebix Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I live 25 minutes away from Allstate Arena where I saw them last Thursday. About the same for us (or a bit more with traffic). And how the heck did we not see each other in Chicago? Don't get it!!Getting to the UC and Lolla are also about the same distance from our house. We've never travelled outside of our state to see them.
Beathe. Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I traveled from Norway to New York to see them in 2002.

I was keeping my eyes peeled for all of the descriptions that GDC members gave of their attire and posters, but I didn't see anyone (except Jon Benjamin, of course)! The only time I've left Illinois for a concert was when I went to Milwaukee to see Matchbox Twenty, and I got Kyle Cook's pick from 10 rows back
